The San Francisco Giants will host the struggling Los Angeles Dodgers in the three game series finale Wednesday night from AT&T Park. The Dodgers will give the start to 31-year old right-hander Yu Darvish, and the Giants will reply with 28-year old left-hander Matt Moore. The season series is currently tied seven games apiece.
Yu Darivsh will take the mound for the 29th time of the season, looking to finally return to the win column. Darvish was hit-hard in his latest effort, allowing five runs in 4.1 innings to the Rockies and charged with the loss to drop his record to 8-12. The 6-foot-5 right-hander has been roughed up in two straight starts, and now owns a 4.25 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 167.1 innings pitched on the season. Darvish, who will be facing the Giants for the first time of his career, has allowed seven home runs over last five starts. Many of the Dodgers hitters have been quiet during the Dodgers extended slump which includes Yasiel Puig. The 26-year old right fielder is showing signs of heating up, driving in four runs in his last five games, and is now hitting .258 with 25 home runs and 66 RBI’s on the year. Puig has driven in 10 runs against the Giants this season. The Dodgers have now shockingly dropped 15 out of their last 16 games.
The Dodgers are currently averaging 4.76 runs per game, ranking them 13th overall, and feature a .251 team batting average. The Los Angeles pitching features a Major league best 3.40 team ERA.
Matt Moore will get the call for the 30th time of the season, aiming for his second straight win. Moore was terrific in his previous start, holding the White Sox to two runs in 6.2 innings and earned the win to bring his record to 5-13. Overall, the veteran left-hander is having a terrible season, posting a 5.31 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP in 162.2 innings logged. He has allowed 14 runs (13 earned) in 16.2 innings against the Dodgers this season, however, nine runs came in one start. He now sits at 3-3 with a weak 5.36 ERA in eight career starts against the division rivals. Paul Goldschmidt is 5 for 14 with two RBI’s against Moore, while Jake Lamb is 4 for 12 and Brandon Drury is 4 for 14. Buster Posey is having a strong month, posting a sizzling .412 average with seven RBI’s in September. The career .308 hitter is having a solid season, hitting .321 with 12 home runs and 61 RBI’s. Posey has enjoyed success against the Dodgers pitching this season, posting a .385 average with six RBI’s.
The Giants low-scoring Giants are only averaging 3.96 runs per game, ranking them down at 29th in the Majors, and are hitting .247 as a team. The San Francisco pitching owns a solid 4.63 team ERA, placing them 20th in the Major Leagues.

The San Francisco Giants are:
I am taking the under in this contest. Darvish has pitched well on the road this season, posting a 2.81 ERA in 13 road starts, and he should be able to rebound with a strong start against a low-scoring Giants team. Furthermore, Moore has been pitching well, allowing two or fewer runs in four out of his last five starts. The Dodgers are struggling to score runs, averaging only 2.4 runs over their last ten games, making the under a strong play.
