Dolphins are preparing to host limited amount of fans

It's been a rough day for Miami football fans. They lost their legendary coach Don Shula, who passed away at the age of 90. Shula was considered of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL also an entrepreneur.

But there is some pretty good news involving bringing fans back to games on a limited basis, practicing social distancing guidelines.

On Monday morning, CEO/president Tom Garfinkel commented on "Good Morning America" about the Dolphins' mock-ups to open up Hard Rock Stadium on a limited basis that would allow people to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

This could be the way for most stadiums in outdoor sports to open up during the pandemic or at least until a vaccine is found. Hard Rock Stadium can host over 65,000 fans, so it's very unlikely that it will be filled to capacity in the 2020 season. However, there is talk of limiting attendance to 15,000 fans.

Another issue is concerning fans entering the stadium at the gates, which will be designed to keep distance between fans as they enter the stadium.

Hard Rock Stadium earned the Global Biorisk Advisory Council's STAR accreditation, making it the first public facility to earn that distinction. They set the standard used for facilities to implement cleaning, disinfecting and infectious disease prevention work practices to control risks involved with infectious agents including COVID-19.

The 2020 NFL schedule is expected to released this week in full. However, they are expected to include contingency plans if the season is delayed or the teams were required to play without fans or lighter attendance.
