Week 1 action in the LCK rolls on, and today's card is probably the worst so far in terms of even matchups. I don't expect that there will be a ton of surprises from today's action, but I can find value in betting them none the less. The opening contest of the day will see two 1-0 teams battle it out as Afreeca Freecs will face off against Team Dynamics who is coming off a nice debut in their first ever LCK game. This match will be followed by a game in which T1 and Hanwha Life Esports will face off as they both look for a rebounding win. Let's not delay things any further, let's dive right into these matches and find the best value.

Afreeca Freecs (-195) vs. Team Dynamics (+140)

The first battle of the day should be the most intriguing in my opinion as Afreeca Freecs will take on Team Dynamics. Afreeca Freecs had a dominant debut to the split, which was a great start for them after a dismal 7-11 run through the Spring Split. Afreeca Freecs controlled both games with 31 kills to only 11 from SANDBOX while taking down 16 towers and only allowing SANDBOX to take down four of their towers. Meanwhile, Team Dynamics showed us that they were deserving of their promotion to the LCK with an outstanding 2-0 debut win over a Spring Split Playoff participant in kt Rolster. There was little to no doubt that Team Dynamics was in any danger of losing to kt Rolster as they didn't lose a single inhibitor and got every dragon except two as well as every baron across the two games. The overly impressive Team Dynamics is listed as an underdog for this contest, and I could see why after Afreeca Freecs was great in their debut as well. However, I don't think their win was a testament to how good they are so much as telling of how bad SANDBOX is. We saw SANDBOX get demolished by Damwon Gaming yesterday, and they are clearly not up to par with the rest of the LCK. I love Team Dynamics in this spot as they showed us not only in the Summer Promotion tournament, but in their match against kt Rolster as well that they know how to control a match and have the talent to be a contender at the LCK level.

Pick: Team Dynamics ML (+140)

T1 (-700) vs Hanwha Life Esports (+400)

The second match of the afternoon is between a pair of 0-1 teams with very different expectations as far as the output of their performance. T1 gave a great fight against fellow Spring Split Playoffs participant DragonX, but they couldn't quite nail it in their overall play as they took the loss. After a 14-4 run in the Spring Split, T1 has some very high expectations for this split as well, and this bout against Hanwha Life may be exactly what they need to get back on track. Hanwha Life finished 6-12 during the Spring Split, and they weren't expected to be much of a contender again this split. Their debut match was a very winable one on paper, but SeolHaeOne Prince (formerly known as APK Prince) was in control for most of the way and Hanwha Life had to steal map two away from them to even see the third round. My play on this match is a very simply, and somewhat obvious one. I'm taking T1 on the spread as Hanwha Life will be no match for them. Hanwha Life struggled to gain any lane control against SeolHaeOne Prince, and T1 has much more talent than them. If you can find a better price to play T1 with a 2-0 score, then by all means jump on it. The best price I have available is -165 though, so that's what I'm going with.

Pick: T1 Spread -1.5 (-165)
