Big Ten will have a 10-game conference schedule to start on Sept. 3

Some major conferences are going play within their own league and some will play a non-conference game or two. The Big Ten announced on Wednesday that they will play a conference-only schedule that will feature 10 games, beginning on Sept. 3.

That means that the Big 10 will be playing games earlier than all the other Power 5 conferences, starting in the traditional Week 1. The conference will have games on Thursday and Friday of that week before beginning on Sept. 5 with a league-wide schedule.

Each team will have two off weeks and there will be 10 games over 12 weeks. On Nov. 28, a potential make up game will be played if necessary.

The championship game will be moved from Dec. 5 to Dec. 19. That’s the date where the Big 12 is expected to play their league title game. The SEC and Pac-12 are moving their title games back to Dec. 19, while the ACC has yet to decide
