BIG vs. Virtus.pro Preview & Prediction - Free 6/12 CS:GO Betting Picks

BIG and Virtus.pro are set to square away in an upper bracket round two matchup of the ESL Pro League Season 12: European Qualifier. BIG held a first round bye while Virtus.pro blanked HAVU Gaming 2-0 in the first round. It has been a while since these two met. In fact, the last meeting between these two was on January 24th in a best-of-one-map match which BIG won 16-8.

The German powerhouse of BIG has been on a tear recently. They lost their last match to G2, snapping a four match win streak although they have an outstanding 75.8% win rate over the last three months. Much of their success has been embedded in the fact that they have such a diverse map pool. Over the last three months, they have no maps with a win rate lower than 60% on, and they have win rates of at least 75% on Train, Vertigo and Overpass.

The CIS squad of Virtus.pro hasn't been playing as good as they were at the start of the year, but they still have been solid. They enter on a two match win streak and hold a 52.9% win streak over the last three months. Map selection will be huge for Virtus.pro as they have win rates of 91.7% on Inferno and 76.9% on Dust2. There's a steep drop off behind that, however, as they have no other maps with a win rate higher than 50% on.

Pick: BIG Spread -1.5 Maps (+123 @ Pinnacle)

I am on BIG to blank Virtus.pro in this battle. BIG saw their win streak snapped at four games last time around, but this loss came to G2 who most likely will be the top ranked team in the world once the new rankings are released. Virtus.pro has a very thin map pool, and this has been a problem for them. Meanwhile, BIG has no maps with a win rate lower than 60%, and this had made them a very solid team. Look for them to dominate this battle.
