Free CS:GO Betting Picks 5/30 - #HomeSweetHome: Week 6 - Heroic vs. Hard Legion Preview & Prediction
Heroic and Hard Legion are set to square off in the quarterfinals of the #HomeSweetHome: Week 6 Playoffs. The Playoffs feature the top eight teams from the Group Stage taking place in a single elimination bracket. Each match in the Playoffs are set as best-of-three-map matches.
Heroic Preview
The Denmark-based squad of Heroic enters this match raning 30th in the HLTV world CS:GO rankings. They made quick work of the Group Stage, running through both of their opponents in Group A. Their opening match with Ambush was no issue at all as they dominated them 16-5. The winner's match wasn't any more challenging as they squared off with HAVU Gaming and blanked them, winning 2-0 and securing their bid to the #HomeSweetHome: Week 6 Playoffs.
Heroic has their favorite maps, much like many teams do. They are extremely dominant on the map Nuke, carrying a 9-1 record on the map in the last three months. Dust2 is also a specialty of the team as they have a 6-2 record lately. They have also seen success on the map Vertigo, albeit in limited fashion as they hold a 3-1 record in recent months. TeSeS, stavn and niko make up the core of the team. The trio has a combined 2.22 kills and only 1.94 kills per round the past three months. They will need to be in full force to take a victory in this bout.
Hard Legion Preview
The almost exlusively Russian team Hard Legion comes in ranking 28th in the world. The Group Stage wasn't easy for them, but they were able to make it through. They opened with a tight 16-14 win over Nordavind to advance to the winner's match. They met a challenge that they couldn't overcome when they fell to Team Secret 2-1 and were forced to play in the decider match to stay alive. They survived against AGF Esports, taking them down 2-1 to advance to the Playoffs.
Dust2 is a map that you don't want to battle Hard Legion on. They hold a 76.9% win rate and a 10-3 record on this map the past three months. They have also been pretty dominant on the map Train in this period. They carry an 8-3 record on this map and a 74.7% win rate after getting the first kill on this map. Krad and Forester are the team leaders, and they will be heavily depended on here also. The two have both averaged right under 0.75 kills per round over the past three months which is almost the best a player can ask for.
Pick: Heroic Spread/Handicap -1.5 Maps (-110 @ Bovada)
I am siding with the favorite on the spread in this bout. Both of these teams specialize on the map Dust2, which limits Hard Legion's capabilities from the start. Train will be the only map that would be almsot a guarenteed win for Hard Legion, and I'm confident that map will be banned by Heroic. Hard Legion struggled through the Group Stage while Heroic absolutely dominated. I expect them to make fairly easy work of Hard Legion as well in this battle.
