Complexity Preview
Complexity is one of the best teams in the world as they enter ranking 19th in the HLTV world CS:GO rankings. They hit a speed bump in their opening match with SKADE, falling 16-14. Their effort was much better in the elimination match as they beat Apeks 2-0 before getting revenge on SKADE with a 2-1 win to advance to the Playoffs. Their quarterfinal match with Endpoint was easy for them as they won 2-0 to advance.
The team has a nice, diverse pool of maps in which they excel on. Inferno is the team's best map as they have a 7-2 record there over the past three months. Nuke and Mirage are also specialties as they hold a 10-4 record on Nuke and a 13-6 record at Mirage. The majority of Complexity's firepower comes from blameF and k0nfig. The duo have been very impressive over the past three months, averaging 1.53 kills and only 1.22 deaths per round over this time period. These two will once again be relied on heavily to lead the team to victory.
Gambit Youngsters Preview
Gambit Youngsters path to the Playoffs has been very similar to their opponents. The 35th best team in the world lost to HAVU to open the event. They were able to sweep Ambush 2-0 in the elimination match before avenging their loss to HAVU in the decider match 2-1 to move into the playoffs. Gambit Youngsters took on Team Secret in the quarterfinals, and they swept them 2-0 to move into the semifinals.
The Russian based team has a trio of maps that they really excel on. Overpass is the team's best map as they have an 11-2 record over the past three months there. Mirage and Vertigo are also specialties of Gambit Youngsters as they have a 7-3 record on these maps over this same period of time. Ax1Le and sh1ro are the team leaders statistically. The duo have combined to average 1.5 kills per round while only dying 1.15 times per round over the past three months. They will need to continue this dominance in order to secure a victory.
Pick: Gambit Youngsters ML (+175 @ Bovada)
I can't pass up this opportunity to back Gambit Youngsters with this price tag. These teams are very similar in stature, and I personally believe that Gambit Youngsters is the better team in this matchup despite being the lower ranked team in the HLTV world CS:GO rankings. The map ban and selection process of the match will be key with both teams having diverse but different map pools, and this process can benefit Gambit Youngsters more. This is not to take away from Complexity because I feel as though they are a very good team, but I belive that Gambit Youngsters will pull the upset of them in this battle.
