Heroic Preview
The Danish team Heroic enters this contest ranking 30th in the HLTV world CS:GO rankings. They have made easy work of their opponents so far in this tournament. In Group A during the Group Stage, they took down Ambush in a single map match 16-5. They followed this with a 2-0 win over HAVU to enter the Playoffs. Their quarterfinal match wasn't any more challenging as they Hard Legion 2-0.
Heroic's strongest suit is the fact that they have a very deep map pool. Over the past three months, they have seen success on the maps Nuke, Vertigo and Dust2. Their record is 9-1 on Nuke, 4-1 on Vertigo and 7-2 on Dust2. TeSes, niko, stavn and cadiaN make up a very strong core of this team. Each of these four are carrying a nice kill to death ratio over the past three months, and any of these four players could step up and carry the team on any given day. They will be heavily relied on here again also.
forZe Preview
The Russian based team forZe comes into this bout ranking 26th in the world. Their path to the Playoffs has been very similar to their opponents. They went 2-0 in Group B after beating Apeks 16-10 in the single-map opening match before sweeping SKADE 2-0 in the winners' match. They had to work for it, but they beat sAw 2-1 in the quarterfinals to advance to this semifinals match.
What makes forZe a versatile team is the fact that they aren't overly dominant on any map, but they have a win rate percentage over 50% on the maps Mirage, Inferno and Nuke. They also have a win rate percentage of over 70% on all three of these maps when getting the first kill. FL1T and xsepower are the team's firepower. FL1T averaged 0.75 and only 0.62 deaths per round over the last three months while xsepower averaged 0.71 kills and only 0.57 deaths per round over this same time period.
Pick: Over 2.5 Maps (+105 @ Bovada)
I have to side with the over in this semifinals battle of the #HomeSweetHome: Week 6 event. Both of these competitors have a versatile map pool which leads to some interesting matches. Neither of these teams have run into much trouble so far this event, and I look for them to be super competitive here. Although these two have been apart of the same tournaments qutie a few times, they haven't played each other since January 19th. I look for this contest to go the distance as I believe these teams are too evenly matched to be able to sweep their opponent.
