Alternate aTTax Preview
Record: 6-4
The German squad Alternate aTTax squad enters third in the standings of this event and they ranked 46th in the world. They have been on the rise lately, and a lot of this has been fueled by their play on the maps Inferno and Vertigo. Alternate aTTax has a 7-2 record with a 77.8% win rate on Inferno over the past three months. Vertigo has arguably been better for the team as they have a 12-4 record over this time on this map with an 81.5% win rate after getting the first kill.
The team leader lately statistically over the past three months has been kressy. He's averaged 0.77 kills and only 0.63 deaths per round over this time. The trio of stfN, mirbit and slaxz- hasn't been terrible in their own right, but they aren't quite as consistent as kressy. The key to victory for Alternate aTTax is somewhat in map selection although that won't affect them as badly as it could others. All they have to do is stick to their normal gameplan and not get ahead of themselves in this contest and they could win this contest easily.
Movistar Riders Preview
Record: 0-3
The Riders haven't been very successful in this event and they have appeared as though this event hasn't been their main focus. It's understandable why they are the favorite due to their success elsewhere in other events, but their performance in the ESEA MDL Season 34 - Europe hasn't been impressive. Inferno has been Movistar Riders's best map over the past three months with an 11-7 record and a 75.8% win rate after getting the first kill.
Most of Movistar's success comes when alex is playing well and he hasn't been overly dominant in the more recent months. He's the team leader statistically over the past three months with an average of 0.71 kills and 0.66 deaths per round, and that isn't very impressive. For Movistar Riders to snap themselves back and register their first win for this event, they are going to need alex to play his best Counter Strike and they will also need steel, mopoz, loWel and EasTor to all four contribute to a decent extent.
Pick: Alternate aTTax ML (+115 @ Bovada)
I am playing the underdog in this contest. Movistar Riders hasn't been playing to their full potential lately, and it has shown in their results. Alternate aTTax hasn't quite been dominant by any means, but they have been winning matches and have a great chance in this one. I wouldn't necessarily advise a max unit bet in this battle as best-of-one-map contests can be somewhat difficult to handicap since it will come down mostly to which map is played and there isn't an entire map's worth of leadway in case of errors. However, Alternate aTTax has been playing better than their opponent lately. Until Movistar Riders can break the win column, I'm fading them.
