Free League Of Legends Betting Picks - Mid-Season Cup 2020 - Invictus Gaming (iG) vs. Gen.G Preview & Prediction

The last set of matches will begin with Invictus Gaming squaring up with Gen.G. The Mid-Season Cup 2020 is a battle between the top four teams from both the LCK (premier Korean League of Legends league) and the LPL (premier Chinese League of Legends league). The event is broken into two stages, Group Stage and Knockout Stage.

The eight participants are broken into two groups of four for the Group Stage. They then take place in a round-robin style bracket featuring six single-round matches between the four teams in one calendar day. The top two from each group will advance to a single-elimination bracket for the Knockout Stage which will feature best-of-five round matches.

Invictus Gaming Preview

Invictus Gaming barely squeezed into this tournament, but they're here and they are no pushovers. They finished fourth in the LPL Spring Split playoffs and were dominated by FunPlus Phoenix 3-0 in the 3rd Place Match. Their playoff run was disappointing after finishing first in the Spring Split with a 14-2 record.

ADC Puff is the bread and butter behind Invictus Gaming's attack. His 4.78 kills per game leads the team by almost a whole kill and he is the only one with over a kill share percentage of over 30%. They lost their best jungler Leyan as he signed with Vici Gaming through the break. This will be interested as the team was 21-10 with Leyan, but only went 8-7 with Ning who will be starting in the jungler role for this tournament.

Gen.G Preview

The runner-ups of the LCK Spring Split Playoffs, Gen.G is an odd team. They are one of the best teams around some days, and then seem to be off-sync the next. They held the coveted first seed for the playoffs and an automatic bye to the finals, but were dominated at the hands of T1 in a 3-0 showing in the championship match.

ADC Ruler and the mid-laner Bdd are an extremely potent one-two punch when they are playing to their full potential. In fact, the two hold a combined KDA of 13.76 and both have a kill participation percentage of at least 70.7%. It's not perfectly clear who Gen.G will roll out at the support position. However, the team has won double as many games as they have lost with either Life or Kellin in this role so they are in good hands regardless of which is playing.

Pick: Over 24.5 Kills (-115 @ Bovada)

I don't really have a feel on this bout either way as far as a winner, but I can tell you that the over on the kill totals will be easy money for this tournament. Both of these teams hold a roster with a good number of veterans, and it's tough to predict an outcome as we don't know what exactly each team will need to advance to the Knockout Stage. I expect both teams to be giving this one their all as it will be their last piece of action for the day. For this reason, I am backing over 24.5 total combined kills.
