Free League Of Legends Betting Picks - Mid-Season Cup 2020 - JD Gaming (JDG) vs. Invictus Gaming (iG) Preview & Prediction

The fourth game of the day will see two LPL squads duke it out in JD Gaming and Invictus Gaming. The Mid-Season Cup 2020 is a battle between the top four teams from both the LCK (premier Korean League of Legends league) and the LPL (premier Chinese League of Legends league). The event is broken into two stages, Group Stage and Knockout Stage.

The eight participants are broken into two groups of four for the Group Stage. They then take place in a round-robin style bracket featuring six single-round matches between the four teams in one calendar day. The top two from each group will advance to a single-elimination bracket for the Knockout Stage which will feature best-of-five round matches.

JD Gaming Preview

The defending LPL Spring Split Playoff champions JD Gaming are here and ready to roll. They swept FunPlus Phoenix 3-0 in the semifinals before outlasting Top Esports 3-2 to take the championship. JD Gaming is a perrenial competitor for Major Tier tournaments each year and they will be a tough task here also.

Their ADC LokeN paired with mid-laner YaGao and jungler Kanavi are a force to be reckoned with. Team fighting is one of the strongest parts of JD Gaming's gameplay as four of their five starters have a kill participation percentage of over 66%. Kanavi is one of the best junglers in the entire world of League of Legends. A strong jungler who can control the jungle parts of the map and win one on one fights is a very strong weapon to possess.

Invictus Gaming Preview

Invictus Gaming barely squeezed into this tournament, but they're here and they are no pushovers. They finished fourth in the LPL Spring Split playoffs and were dominated by FunPlus Phoenix 3-0 in the 3rd Place Match. Their playoff run was disappointing after finishing first in the Spring Split with a 14-2 record.

ADC Puff is the bread and butter behind Invictus Gaming's attack. His 4.78 kills per game leads the team by almost a whole kill and he is the only one with over a kill share percentage of over 30%. They lost their best jungler Leyan as he signed with Vici Gaming through the break. This will be interested as the team was 21-10 with Leyan, but only went 8-7 with Ning who will be starting in the jungler role for this tournament.

Pick: JD Gaming Spread/Handicap -4.5 Kills (-125 @ Bovada)

I am all over JD Gaming in this battle between LPL teams. Invictus Gaming is not nearly as good without Leyan and Ning is in for a tough outing. JD Gaming's jungler Kanavi is one of the best in the business and he will have his way with Ning in terms of controlling the jungle. I do expect this bout to be somewhat back and forth, but JD Gaming has the experience to take care of business here.
