Invictus Gaming (-375) vs. Rogue Warriors (+250)
Match Spread: Invictus Gaming -1.5
Match Total: 2.5
Projected Starting Lineups
Invictus Gaming: TheShy, Ning, Rookie, Puff, Southwind
Rogue Warriors: Holder, Youdang, Ruby, ZWuJi, Ley
The 6/17 LPL slate kicks off with Invictus Gaming (1-1) taking on Rogue Warriors (0-1). Invictus Gaming looked poor in their debut against Team WE, losing 2-0, before bouncing back with a decisive 2-0 victory over Suning to move to 1-1 in the split. Their opponent Rogue Warriors was shaky during the Spring Split, and they didn't look much better in their only match of the Summer Split against Top Esports. Although Rogue Warriors has a few really good players on their roster in Ruby and ZWuJi, this is an uphill battle for them against the more experienced roster of Invictus Gaming. You won't see many roster changes from Invictus Gaming this split, and they have a ton of chemistry which comes in handy for them in team fights. Rogue Warriors were only average in the Spring Split, and they don't have Haro or WeiYan as their Junglers any more. I believe the loss of these two players affected their chemistry a ton and hurt the team's overall performance. I don't want to put a jinx on Invictus Gaming because anything can happen in the world of League of Legends, but this should be an easy contest for Invictus Gaming.
Pick: Invictus Gaming Spread/Handicap -1.5 (-105)
Edward Gaming (-225) vs. Suning (+160)
Match Spread: Edward Gaming -1.5
Match Total 2.5
Projected Starting Lineups
Edward Gaming: Aodi, JunJia, Scout, Hope, Meiko
Suning: Bin, SofM, Angel, huanfeng, SwordArt
The second match of the night will see a pair of .500 teams battle it out as Edward Gaming (1-1) will face off with Suning (2-2). EDG gave Team WE a great run in their opening match of the Summer Split although they lost 1-2 in that affair. They were able to rebound in a big way against an inferior opponent in OhMyGod, and they made quick work of them with a 2-0 victory. EDG has an experienced lineup and more often than not they play well together as a team. Their opponent, Suning, is a somewhat odd team to get a read on. They also have an experienced lineup with some chemistry together, but they tend to underperform in some matches. They opened the split with a nice 2-0 win over LNG followed by a nice 2-1 upset of Team WE. Things have gone south for them since however with back-to-back 0-2 losses to JD Gaming and Invictus Gaming. I am on the over in this match. I do like Edward Gaming winning this match, but -225 is too much juice for my liking and I am not confident that they can 2-0 Suning. I look for both of these teams to take one map as they both have too much experience to be swept in my opinion.
