North Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 26th

The Danish powerhouse of North enters on the back end of a horrid stretch. They may be within the top 30 of the world rankings but they've only won 40.7% of their matches the last three months, albeit against some tough competition. North's best chances lie when the contests end up on the maps Dust2 or Overpass. They have a 62.5% win rate on Dust2 and a 60% win rate on Overpass. Outside of these maps, it's tough for North though with no win rates higher than 44.4%.

North has found themselves relying heavily on cajunb and aizy in the more recent months, and this has not been a successful gameplan. A scary thing about North is the fact that none of their players have a very good kill to death ratio as all are right around the even mark. The play of Kristou has been one factor of their fails lately as the player has only averaged 0.53 kills while dying 0.72 times a round over the last three months. This is a great chance for North to rebound, they just have to be careful not to get too far ahead of themselves.

Ambush Preview

HLTV World Ranking: 71st

A Danish counterpart of North's, Ambush has also been underperforming lately as well. They looked really strong earlier in the year and appeared to be primed to move into a higher tier of competition. However, the last three months they've somewhat fallen off with a win rate of only 43.8%. Ambush has been really strong on the map Overpass lately with a 7-0 record, but there's a steep drop-off after that and their limited success with the map pool raises a little concern.

Ryxxo's play has been superior for Ambush the past three months with an average of 0.75 kills per round while only dying 0.6 times a round. However, he's not been able to overcome the fact that no other player on the roster has a positive kill to death ratio during this same period of time. The play of Inzta has somewhat held them back more than any as he carries a poor average of 0.51 kills a round while dying 0.68 times per round. For a victory, Ambush needs another solid showing from Ryxxo along with a better performance from his four counterparts.

Pick: North Spread/Handicap -4.5 Rounds (-115 @ Bovada)

Don't overthink this play because of North's tough run against top-tier competition lately. Ryxxo is the only player on Ambush who could run with the big boys and he can't do it alone. The timing on this contest is perfect because North needs a big bounce-back win and this is the match for them to do so. North's strategic play has been the firepower behind much of their success, and I look for them to make quick work of the inferior opponent in Ambush. Lay the four and a half round spread for North and watch the money pile up as North will dominate this contest with a big win.
