The Latest PGA Tour News

All of the sports worlds continues to feel the effects of the national shutdown that has occurred over the last month or so and the PGA tour has not been spared being affected. In this article, I will give you some of the latest news involving the PGA tour. The reworking of the PGA schedule was announced Monday morning.

The British Open or as most call it, The Open Championship was scheduled for July 16th to the 19th but it has been canceled and will now be played next year. This is the first time that the event will not take place since 1945. The Open Championship will take place at Royal St. George’s in 2021 and that will push the 150th Open to 2022 at St. Andrews.

The PGA Championship was originally scheduled for May 14th to the 17th but it has been rescheduled for August 6th to the 9th. That even will take place at Harding Park in San Francisco, which is where it was originally scheduled to be played.

The Masters in November? Boy, that will be weird but the PGA has moved one of the most prestigious tournaments from April 9th-12th to November 12th-15th. It will be very odd to see that tournament that late in the year. The Masters will be held at Augusta National Golf Club.

Lastly, we will discuss the U.S. Open. It was normally scheduled for June 18th to the 21st but the U.S. Open will now be played on September 18th to the 21st. That event will take place at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, New York, which is where it was originally scheduled to take place. The U.S Open is now scheduled a week before the Ryder Cup, which will take place at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
