Tiger Woods Is Listed at 30/1 To Win The Memorial

Tiger Woods is finally returning to the course. The last time he played in an official PGA Tour event was back on February 16th, which was the Genesis Invitational. He did square off against tom Brady and Phil Michelson in the Match II back in May, which he and Peyton Manning won. This week, Tiger will be playing in The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Tiger has been listed at 30/1 to win the event.

Woods comes in ranked 14th in the world rankings but just 41st in the FedEx Cup standings. He has 82 career titles on tour overall, including 15 Majors. Tiger trails Jack Nicklaus by just three in the battle for all-time Majors wins and he is tied with Sam Snead for most tour wins overall.

This is a course that Tiger likes to play and he has won The Memorial five times in his career, including three in a row from 1999-2001. He also won in 2009 and 2012. Overall, Tiger has played this event 17 times in his career and along with winning it five times, he has nine top-10 finishes and 13 top-25s while making the cut all 17 times. As I stated above, he is 30/1 to win the Memorial Tournament this week and that is on a course that he owns. This is a loaded field and it shows just how hard it is to win the Memorial.

Tiger is hoping for a much better result than the one he had at the Genesis Invitational, where he shot an 11 over par to finish in last place. This was after posting a 9th place finish in the Farmers Insurance Open (1/26/20) and a first-place finish at the ZOZO Championship (10/27/19) to begin the season. Woods also finished 4th at the Hero World Challenge (12/7/19) which was an unofficial PGA Tour event and he played in The Match II with Phil Michelson, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady. Peyton and Tiger won the match.

We do note that this is the site of his worst ever round of golf. Back in 2015, he was going through some major back issues and Woods ended up shooting a 13-over 85 in the 3rd round of The Memorial. Tiger looked healthy in The Match II, back in May, so could this be his 83rd career win on tour, which would make him the all-time winner in tour wins? We shall see. I will have a preview of The Memorial later on today, so be sure and look for it.
