UFC on ESPN 24: Waterson vs Rodriguez - Card Preview - 5/8/21

The UFC is staying close to home for another Apex Centre event this Saturday, May 8th. I'm sure fans are still reeling from that Prochazka/Reyes fight of the year candidate this past weekend so this card is going to have a tall order following that up.

This card was originally going to mark the return of former champion TJ Dillashaw but he suffered a cut in training which forced him out of his bout with Cory Sandhagen. The UFC is going to keep this one in tact and move it to another event. UFC will now put Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez in the headlining spot.

Donald Cerrone will tie the record for most career UFC fights ever at 37 bouts. He'll take on late replacement, Alex Morono, in the co main event. He was originally slated to face Diego Sanchez but the UFC had enough of Sanchez's manager's shenanigans and cut him last week.

Two exciting welterweights will also lock horns on the main card -Neal Magny and Geoff Neal. That will be one to watch for.

Full breakdowns of the undercard as well as our best bets segment still to come. Check back later this week for breakdown and predictions of the main card as well.

Ever since renting my first UFC VHS at my local video store, I’ve been in love with the sport of MMA. I’ve watched every single fight that has ever taken place under the UFC banner over the past 25 years. Once I started doing incredibly well in fantasy leagues, I realized I could utilize my skills in fight analytics to make a profit on betting. My obsession with researching every aspect of a fight gave me a real edge in finding value. Since then, it's been one profitable year after the next. Watching your favorite sport is good, but getting paid while watching your favorite sport is better.
