BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Saturday October 3 2026

By: Alex MacMillan Published 09/30/2026, 01:27 AM ET

BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts picks for Saturday, October 3, 2026, feature two of the CFL’s hottest teams at BMO Field. BC is 8-6 after beating Saskatchewan 31-24 for its seventh win in eight games, while Toronto is 9-6 after a 30-28 road win over Winnipeg extended the Argonauts’ winning streak to four.

The side market has crossed pick’em, with sportsbooks disagreeing on whether BC or Toronto should be a short favorite. The total is much more consistent in the mid-60s. Bettors can follow more CFL picks, compare current CFL betting odds, and check CFL player props before kickoff. The Best Bet is Under 65.5 because the market is pricing a shootout while both defenses have shown meaningful improvement.

Best Available Odds for BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts

  • Moneyline: BC -108, Toronto -111 at one current shop
  • Spread: BC +1.5 (-122), Toronto -1.5 (EV) at one shop; other books have listed BC -1.5
  • Total: Over 65.5 (-110), Under 65.5 (-110)

The spread disagreement is the key market story. BC has been favored at some books, while Toronto has been favored at others. That makes the side close to a true pick’em once price is considered. The total has stayed around 64.5 to 65.5, which is a demanding number even for two offenses with high-end quarterbacks.

BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts Preview

BC enters as one of the league’s hottest teams, and Nathan Rourke is coming off another high-impact performance. He threw four touchdown passes in the 31-24 win over Saskatchewan, finding the end zone once in every quarter. The Lions converted four of five red-zone trips into touchdowns, a major difference in a game that was otherwise competitive.

That offensive efficiency is why the total has climbed into the mid-60s. BC averages 30.6 points per game and has enough receiving depth to create explosive plays at every level. Rourke can extend possessions with movement, and the Lions do not need to rely on a single receiver or one type of route to move the ball.

Toronto’s offense is just as dangerous when Chad Kelly is in rhythm. Kelly threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns in Winnipeg last week, while Damonte Coxie produced 149 receiving yards and a score. Toronto erased a slow first quarter and won 30-28 despite playing in a difficult road environment.

The reason to look Under is that both defenses are contributing more than the market number suggests. Toronto’s defense held Winnipeg quarterback Dru Brown to only 15 passing yards in the second half last week and intercepted him twice after halftime. That turnaround gave Kelly enough opportunities to complete the comeback without requiring Toronto to score in the high 30s.

BC’s defense has also been better during the Lions’ 7-1 run. Saskatchewan moved the ball last week, but BC won the red-zone battle decisively. The Lions did not need to shut down every drive; they needed to force field goals often enough to keep the scoring margin manageable.

Matchup Breakdown

The first question is whether either defense can limit explosive passes. Both quarterbacks are comfortable challenging coverage vertically, and both offenses have receivers who can turn a modest completion into a major gain. That is the primary threat to an Under ticket.

At the same time, a total of 65.5 creates room for strong offensive performances without requiring a bet on the Over. A 31-28 game produces 59 points. Even 34-28 lands at 62. The offenses can play well while the Under still cashes as long as the game avoids defensive scores, repeated short fields or overtime.

The season O/U records are relatively neutral compared with the size of the total. BC is 8-6 to the Over, while Toronto is 7-8. Those records do not show the kind of extreme high-scoring profile that would normally justify asking for 66 combined points.

The baseline matchup scoring projection sits closer to 58 than 66. That gap is the largest total discrepancy on the Week 18 board. It does not guarantee a low-scoring game, but it creates more cushion than the other totals on the slate.

The spread is less attractive because the market has crossed pick’em. BC has won seven of eight, Toronto has won four straight, and Toronto remains unbeaten at home. There are legitimate reasons to support either side. When the market cannot maintain a consistent favorite, choosing a winner becomes less appealing than attacking the inflated total.

Toronto’s home-field record deserves respect. The Argonauts are 4-0 at BMO Field, while BC is 3-4 on the road. BC’s recent form offsets that advantage, but it reinforces the idea that this matchup can remain close rather than turning into a one-sided scoring avalanche.

Game Thesis: BC and Toronto both have quarterbacks capable of producing a shootout, but 65.5 is pricing an unusually high offensive outcome. Both defenses have shown they can tighten in high-leverage situations, and a competitive game can stay comfortably below the posted total. Projected final: BC 30, Toronto 28.

BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts Best Bet - Total: Under 65.5 (-110)

Under 65.5 is the Best Bet because the market number requires sustained scoring from both offenses for four quarters. BC is playing excellent football, but its defense has been part of that surge. Toronto’s defense also showed last week that it can completely change a game after halftime.

The total offers a substantial cushion relative to the matchup’s scoring baseline. Neither team needs to struggle offensively for the Under to win. A game in which both clubs reach the high 20s or one reaches the low 30s can still stay below 65.5.

The major risk is explosive quarterback play. Rourke threw four touchdowns last week, Kelly continues to attack downfield, and good weather removes an obvious environmental obstacle. The number, however, is high enough to account for much of that offensive upside.

The spread has crossed pick’em across sportsbooks. Some shops list BC -1.5, while others have Toronto -1.5. That is a strong signal that there is no stable side edge at the current price.

BC’s 7-1 run is impressive, but Toronto has won four straight and is undefeated at home. Rather than choose between two legitimate arguments, the recommendation is to pass the side.

The moneyline is also essentially a coin flip. Prices near -110 on both teams do not create enough value to justify separating two clubs playing their best football of the season.

The total provides a clearer edge than trying to decide which team wins the final possession.

Prediction: BC Lions 30, Toronto Argonauts 28
