By: Alex MacMillan Published 09/24/2026, 05:36 PM ET

Today’s Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions picks for Friday, September 25, 2026, come from Save-On-Foods Field at BC Place in Vancouver. Saskatchewan enters at 8-5 and sits second in the West Division, while BC is 7-6 and only two points behind the Roughriders after winning six of its past seven games.

This is the third and final regular-season meeting between the teams, with the season series tied 1-1. Saskatchewan won 31-27 in Week 2, and BC answered with a 30-16 victory in Week 12. Bettors can find more CFL predictions, monitor current CFL betting odds, and review available CFL prop picks before kickoff. The matchup has playoff and tiebreaker importance, but the current spread and total do not produce a recommended wager.

Best Available Odds for Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions

  • Moneyline: Saskatchewan +150, BC -180
  • Spread: Saskatchewan +3.5 (+100), BC -3.5 (-120)
  • Total: Over 62.5 (-105), Under 62.5 (-115)

BC has remained around a field-goal favorite, with the spread trading between -3 and -3.5 depending on the book. The total opened closer to 61.5 and has reached 62 to 62.5 in the broader market. That upward total move makes it harder to chase an Over in a matchup featuring two of the CFL’s better defenses.

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions Preview

Saskatchewan gets a valuable reset after its Week 16 bye. The Roughriders’ last appearance was a 19-6 loss in Winnipeg in which the offense failed to score a touchdown and turned the ball over repeatedly. Trevor Harris still ranks among the league leaders in passing yardage, but Saskatchewan needs a cleaner version of its offense if it wants to control this rubber match.

The healthier backfield should help. Ouellette is available, and Saskatchewan has Kian Schaffer-Baker back as part of the receiving group. The Roughriders average more than 400 total yards per game and convert second down at one of the league’s best rates, so the Week 15 loss looks more like a poor execution game than proof the offense cannot move the ball.

BC presents a much different problem than Winnipeg. The Lions lead the CFL in total offense at 427.7 yards per game and rank first in rushing offense at 121.3 yards. Nathan Rourke has thrown for 3,476 yards in 11 games, averaging more than 10 yards per attempt, while Zander Horvath leads the league with 16 rushing touchdowns.

The Lions are not simply an offense-first team. BC also allows the fewest total yards and rushing yards per game in the CFL. That balance is the main reason the Lions have won six of seven and climbed from the bottom half of the West into a game that can determine second place and the season-series tiebreaker.

Saskatchewan’s defense gives the Riders a realistic counter. They allow only 26.2 points per game, second-best in the league, and have been particularly strong against the run. Holding opponents to 72.9 rushing yards per game gives Saskatchewan a chance to keep Horvath from turning every short-yardage possession into a favorable BC down-and-distance situation.

Matchup Breakdown

The most interesting battle is BC’s rushing attack against Saskatchewan’s front seven. BC wants Rourke to play from balanced looks, using Horvath and quarterback movement to pull defenders toward the line before attacking vertically. Saskatchewan has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards in the league, which means the Riders can make the Lions earn those explosives through the air.

At the other end, Harris faces the CFL’s best overall yardage defense. BC allows only 343.3 yards per game and just 58.5 rushing yards, so Saskatchewan cannot count on Ouellette alone to stabilize the offense. Harris needs efficient second-down passing and must avoid the turnover problems that ruined the last trip to Winnipeg.

Both clubs are coming off rest, so there is no meaningful schedule advantage. The venue favors BC, while the standings pressure is high for both teams. Saskatchewan can clinch a playoff berth in one Week 17 scenario, and BC can move even with the Riders in points while taking the season-series tiebreaker with a victory.

The spread is the difficult part. Saskatchewan and BC are both 6-7 ATS, so neither team has produced a season-long betting profile strong enough to confirm the current number. Taking Saskatchewan +3.5 is more attractive than laying -3.5 with BC, but the support is not strong enough to upgrade the underdog from a lean to a recommended play.

The total is also priced aggressively. BC is 8-5 to the Over and Saskatchewan is 6-7, creating only mild combined Over support. The market has already pushed the number into the low 60s, and both defenses are capable of producing long stretches without touchdowns.

Game Thesis: BC has the better recent form, home field and the most balanced offense-defense profile in the matchup, but Saskatchewan’s run defense and second-down efficiency can keep the game inside one possession. The current +3.5 is interesting for the Riders without being strong enough for a formal recommendation. Projected final: BC 32, Saskatchewan 30.

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions Best Bet: Pass

BC deserves to be favored, but laying more than a field goal asks the Lions to separate from a Saskatchewan team that already beat them once and owns one of the league’s best scoring defenses. The Riders are also coming off a bye with several important offensive players available again.

Saskatchewan +3.5 has some appeal because a field-goal game would cash the ticket, but the Roughriders’ 6-7 ATS record and the absence of independent ATS confirmation keep it not supported strongly enough by the season-long ATS results. The disciplined decision is to pass rather than convert a small numerical lean into a bet.

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions Moneyline Pick: Pass

Saskatchewan +150 offers the most interesting disagreement on the Week 17 moneyline board. The price is generous for a matchup that is closer than the moneyline suggests, and an outright win would give the Riders the season-series tiebreaker.

The problem is confirmation. BC has won six of seven, is at home, and owns the league’s best net-yardage offense and defense. Saskatchewan’s straight-up profile is strong enough to keep the upset live but not strong enough to make +150 a recommendation.

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions Total Pick: Pass

The total has risen into the 62 to 62.5 range because both quarterbacks can create explosive plays. Rourke is averaging more than 10 yards per attempt, and Harris has enough receiving depth to punish BC if the Lions crowd the short zones.

Still, Saskatchewan allows only 26.2 points per game and BC leads the CFL in total defense. A 32-30 projection lands just below the current number and does not create enough difference for an Under play, especially in an indoor stadium where weather cannot slow the offenses.

Prediction: BC Lions 32, Saskatchewan Roughriders 30
