Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Friday September 25 2026

By: Alex MacMillan Published 09/24/2026, 05:32 PM ET

Today’s Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers picks for Friday, September 25, 2026, open CFL Week 17 at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg. Toronto enters at 8-6 after a 24-19 win over West-leading Edmonton clinched a playoff berth and a home playoff date, while Winnipeg is 7-6 and returns from its final bye still locked into a crowded West Division race.

The market is unusually unsettled for such a short spread. The best current board has Winnipeg -1.5 with a total of 58.5, but other books have crossed through pick’em and briefly made Toronto the favorite. Bettors can review more CFL picks, compare current CFL betting odds, and check the latest CFL player props before kickoff. The quarterback change in Winnipeg creates a real handicap, but the available number still does not offer enough separation for a strong pregame wager.

Best Available Odds for Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • Moneyline: Toronto +100, Winnipeg -120
  • Spread: Toronto +1.5 (-110), Winnipeg -1.5 (-110)
  • Total: Over 58.5 (-110), Under 58.5 (-110)

The important movement is on the side. An earlier Week 17 board had Toronto favored by 1.5, while the current market has Winnipeg laying 1.5 and some books have traded the matchup on both sides of pick’em. The total has also moved in a narrow range around 58 to 59.5. That disagreement is a warning against treating any one snapshot as a strong market signal.

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Preview

Toronto arrives with the league’s most productive passing offense and a defense that just delivered one of its best performances of the season. Chad Kelly leads the CFL in passing yards and touchdown passes, and the Argonauts average more than 350 passing yards per game. They beat Edmonton despite finishing with almost no rushing production because the defense created turnovers in the red zone and produced a fumble-return touchdown.

That formula matters in Winnipeg because the Blue Bombers are strongest where Toronto wants to attack. Winnipeg allows the fewest passing yards per game in the league and has been much more physical on defense during the second half of the schedule. The Bombers held Saskatchewan to six points in their most recent game, forced five turnovers, and now come into Friday rested after a Week 16 bye.

The quarterback change is the central variable. Collaros will not play, so Brown makes his fifth start of the season. He is 2-2 in his previous four starts for Winnipeg, completing more than 70 percent of his passes for 1,148 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions. One of those starts came against Toronto in Week 6, when Brown threw for 339 yards in a 30-21 Winnipeg win.

Brown does not need to duplicate Kelly’s season-long volume for the Bombers to stay on schedule. Winnipeg can lean on Oliveira, who leads the CFL in rushing, and use Demski and the short passing game to keep Toronto from attacking obvious passing situations. The challenge is avoiding the turnovers that have kept Brown’s touchdown-to-interception ratio even.

Toronto’s defensive improvement makes that more difficult than it was earlier in the year. Adarius Pickett has become a major pressure piece, and the Argonauts frustrated Edmonton by forcing field goals after long drives. Winnipeg’s offense ranks near the bottom of the league in passing yardage, so Brown will need efficient second-down work rather than a series of long-yardage conversions.

Matchup Breakdown

The clearest statistical advantage belongs to Toronto’s passing game against Winnipeg’s secondary, but it is not as large as Kelly’s raw production suggests. Toronto averages 417.6 total yards and 359.1 passing yards per game, yet Winnipeg is first in passing defense at 272.2 yards allowed. If the Bombers can force Kelly to hold the ball and make him work underneath, they can reduce the explosive-play gap.

Winnipeg’s offense has the opposite profile. The Bombers average only 345.8 total yards and 26.5 points per game, but they have enough rushing strength to attack a Toronto defense that is more comfortable defending the run than the pass. Oliveira’s presence is especially important because a productive first-down run game can keep Brown from seeing Toronto’s pressure packages on every second down.

Rest also matters. Toronto is coming off an emotional win over Edmonton and now travels west on a short week. Winnipeg has had two weeks to prepare and is playing at home, where its defense recently produced major wins against Montreal and Saskatchewan. That scheduling advantage is one reason a Winnipeg lean remains defensible even without Collaros.

The problem is price. With the side moving through pick’em and the current market sitting around Winnipeg -1.5, the bettor is being asked to choose between Kelly’s stronger quarterback profile and Winnipeg’s rest, home field and defense. Neither side has a strong enough ATS record to resolve the conflict: Toronto is 7-7 ATS and Winnipeg is 7-6.

The total is similarly balanced. Toronto is 6-8 to the Over and Winnipeg is 7-6, leaving the combined season profile almost neutral. The wind deserves monitoring because Princess Auto Stadium is exposed, but Friday’s forecast does not currently show enough rain or severe weather to create a clear Under position.

Game Thesis: Winnipeg has enough rest, defense and rushing support to survive the quarterback downgrade, while Toronto has the best pure passing attack in the matchup. The number is too short and too unstable to create a trustworthy side, and the total sits almost directly on a reasonable scoring projection. Projected final: Winnipeg 30, Toronto 28.

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Best Bet: Pass

The best pregame decision is to stay away from the spread. Winnipeg -1.5 is playable only if Brown protects the football, while Toronto +1.5 depends on Kelly breaking down the CFL’s best statistical pass defense on the road. The market has also crossed pick’em at different books, which makes the current side more of a price-shopping exercise than a clear edge.

Winnipeg’s rest advantage is real, but Collaros being out is equally real. Brown already beat Toronto once this season and has had more time in the offense since that game, yet five interceptions in four starts leave enough downside to prevent this from becoming a strong favorite play.

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Moneyline Pick: Pass

Winnipeg around -120 is more attractive than laying points, but the price still asks Brown to beat a Toronto team that has won six of its past eight games. Toronto near even money is tempting because Kelly is the stronger quarterback, but the Argonauts are stepping into the more difficult rest and venue situation.

A projected two-point Winnipeg win is not enough to recommend either moneyline. Winnipeg’s rest and home-field advantages are not enough to overcome the uncertainty at quarterback and the near-even ATS profiles.

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Total Pick: Pass

The total near 58.5 is efficient. Toronto can score quickly through Kelly and Damonte Coxie, while Winnipeg can shorten the game through Oliveira and ask Brown to play within structure. Both defenses are coming off performances in which turnovers and red-zone execution mattered more than raw yardage.

A 30-28 projection lands almost directly on the posted total. Unless the wind strengthens materially before kickoff or the market moves several points, there is no reason to force an Over or Under.

Prediction: Winnipeg Blue Bombers 30, Toronto Argonauts 28
