Arizona vs. UConn Pick

Arizona vs. UConn Spread Pick

  • Arizona +5.5 (4 units)

This is a marquee non-conference tilt played on someone’s actual home court as opposed to a neutral floor. That is surprising enough, but the Wildcats are a battle-tested squad. We’ve seen the Wildcats down a pair of ranked squads already this season as they beat defending champ Florida in the opener before Friday’s win over UCLA. UConn beat up on three cupcakes ranked 201st or lower in the KenPom rankings, and while they deserve credit for beating BYU and potential #1 pick AJ Dybantsa, the fact remains that they nearly blew a 20-point lead in the second half. The Huskies still have Kansas, Illinois, Florida and Texas on the slate in non-conference action. Arizona is a tough team and they hang tough enough to cover the line here.

Arizona vs. UConn Over/Under Pick

  • Under 156.5 (4 units)

Both teams are very good offensively but one shouldn’t overlook the defensive capabilities of each squad. Arizona is 12th in defensive efficiency, 60th in effective field goal percentage defense (44.5%), 62nd in forced turnover percentage (21.2%), and 47th in two-point defense (42.9%) this season. The Wildcats have stayed under the number in three of their four games on the year. UConn has split their four games in relation to the total this season. The Huskies are 15th in defensive efficiency, 44th in effective field goal percentage defense (43.5%), 79th in forced turnover percentage (20.9%), and 78th in field goal percentage defense (38.8%) this season. UConn is 247th in tempo with 69.7 possessions a night. Look for the defenses to make some stops, and that keeps this game a couple of points short of the number.
