Arkansas Razorbacks (13-4) vs. Georgia Bulldogs (14-3)

The college hoops betting action goes on with another loaded Saturday card, so we are breaking down the SEC clash from Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, GA, to get you the Arkansas vs. Georgia prediction along with the latest odds update.

The Razorbacks search for their third straight victory over the Bulldogs. Last season, Arkansas outlasted Georgia 68-65 as a slight 1-point home favorite, and the game went under the 140.5-point line.

Arkansas is a 1.5-point road underdog for Saturday’s clash, while the total sits at 179.5 points. Let’s take a closer look at this Arkansas vs. Georgia prediction, one of our NCAAB picks for Saturday’s slate. The tip-off at Stegeman Coliseum is set at 4:00 PM ET.

Arkansas is coming off a big win

The Arkansas Razorbacks (13-4; 12-5 ATS; 10-7 O/U) put an end to their three-game winning streak last Saturday, suffering a heavy 95-73 defeat at Auburn. The Razorbacks couldn’t stop anything while making just 43.1% of their field goals (8-for-21 from deep).

Arkansas bounced back in style, beating South Carolina 108-74 this past Wednesday. The Razorbacks shot 58.9% from the field (8-for-21 from deep) and committed a paltry four turnovers. Six Razorbacks scored in double figures, and Arkansas advanced to 3-1 in conference play.

Freshman guard Darius Acuff tortured South Carolina for 18 points and 13 assists. He averages 19.8 points and 6.3 assists. Fellow freshman guard Meleek Thomas tallies 15.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, and senior forward Trevon Brazile adds 13.4 points and 6.7 boards a night.

Arkansas is No. 17 in the AP Top 25 Poll and No. 24 in the NCAA NET Rankings. The Razorbacks score 127.4 points per 100 possessions (5th in the country) and allow 104.2 points in return (78th). They are 15th in the country in 3-point percentage (39.1%).

Georgia is coming off a tough loss

The Georgia Bulldogs (14-3; 7-10 ATS; 10-7 O/U) have dropped two of their previous three games overall, sandwiching a 75-70 victory at South Carolina with a pair of losses at Florida 92-77 and to Ole Miss 97-95 in overtime.

Last Wednesday, the Bulldogs failed to beat Ole Miss despite being listed as 10.5-point home favorites. Georgia shot just 37.5% from the field, and the Rebels outscored the Bulldogs 32-20 in the paint. The Bulldogs went 15-for-35 from downtown and posted 21 offensive rebounds, but it wasn’t enough, as they fell to 2-2 in conference play.

Sophomore guard Jeremiah Wilkinson dropped 32 points on Ole Miss. He’s the team’s leading scorer with 17.8 points per game. Junior guard Blue Cain tallies 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, and fellow junior guard Marcus Millender adds 11.8 points and 3.8 assists a night.

Georgia is No. 21 in the AP Top 25 Poll and No. 33 in the NCAA NET Rankings. The Bulldogs score 121.6 points per 100 possessions (36th in the country) and surrender 103.1 points in return (67th). They are 14th in the country in 2-point percentage (60.1%) and 254th in 3-point percentage (31.9%).

Arkansas vs. Georgia Pick

Spread Pick for Arkansas vs. Georgia

  • Georgia -1.5 (5 units)

This game will be a joy to watch, and it could easily go either way. Both teams play at a furious pace, but they take excellent care of the ball. Arkansas is sixth in the country in turnover percentage (13.2%), and Georgia ranks 19th in this category (14.1%).

The Bulldogs love to attack the paint, and the Razorbacks are 228th in opposing 2-point percentage (53.0%). That’s the main reason why I like Georgia in this game. Also, the Bulldogs’ defense is 54th in turnover percentage (19.7%), 53rd in 3-point rate (.353), and 74th in 3-point percentage (31.3%). Moreover, Georgia holds its rivals to 46.5% shooting from inside the arc (33rd).

I’m not saying that Georgia’s defense is elite, but the Bulldogs must be fired up to bounce back from that lousy display against Ole Miss. They certainly have enough weapons to score enough against Arkansas.

Over/Under Pick for Arkansas vs. Georgia

  • Over 179.5 (5 units)

The bookies expect a proper firecracker, and the line has been set sky-high. I cannot argue about it. The Bulldogs play at the second-fastest pace in the country, notching 75.3 possessions per 40 minutes, while the Razorbacks record 72.1 possessions per 40 minutes (26th).

Both teams love to get to the free-throw line. Georgia will torture Arkansas in the paint, while the Razorbacks will lean on their lethal 3-point shooting. I don’t feel comfortable with that 179.5-point line, but I have to take the over. Eight of the last 11 encounters between Arkansas and Georgia have gone over the total.
