Georgia Tech vs Notre Dame Game Preview and Analysis

Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech enters on a six-game losing streak, and the numbers show why. The Yellow Jackets are scoring 74.5 points per game, and they rely heavily on Kowacie Reeves Jr., who averages 15.2 points per game, and Baye Ndongo, who adds 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds.

The problem has been depth and late-game execution. With Peyton Marshall and Mouhamed Sylla both out in the frontcourt, plus Dyllan Thompson unavailable on the wing, Georgia Techโ€™s rotation gets thin quickly when foul trouble hits.

Still, this is a team that can compete in a grind. Reeves can create his own look, and Ndongo cleans up misses on the glass. In a game where neither team is playing with much margin for error, that rebounding presence matters.

Notre Dame

Notre Dameโ€™s slide has a clear explanation. The Irish lost their offensive engine Markus Burton to a season-ending ankle injury. That loss alone changes their entire shot creation structure.

They are also without true post depth with Kebba Njie and Tommy Ahneman sidelined, forcing smaller lineups and more guard-driven possessions. That creates better spacing, but it also adds volatility.

The biggest swing factor is Jalen Haralson. The freshman has been listed at 15.5 points per game in game notes and has served as the go-to scorer. He is currently questionable. If he is limited or out, Notre Dameโ€™s half-court offense becomes far more predictable.

That is why I like the points with Georgia Tech. The market is asking Notre Dame to win comfortably despite missing key pieces and possibly playing without or with a compromised Haralson.

I also lean under. With Burton already out and both teams dealing with lineup disruptions, sustained efficiency for 40 minutes feels like a stretch.

  • Georgia Tech is 11-14 overall and 2-10 in ACC play.
  • Notre Dame is 11-14 overall and 2-10 in ACC play.
  • Kowacie Reeves Jr. averages 15.2 points per game.
  • Baye Ndongo averages 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds.
  • Jalen Haralson is listed at 15.5 points per game in game notes.
  • The spread has moved from Notre Dame -8.5 to -7.5.
  • The total has moved from 152.5 to 151.5.

Key Injuries and Notes (GT vs ND)

  • Markus Burton is out for the season with an ankle injury.
  • Kebba Njie and Tommy Ahneman are sidelined for Notre Dame.
  • Jalen Haralson is questionable.
  • Peyton Marshall and Mouhamed Sylla are out for Georgia Tech.
  • Dyllan Thompson is unavailable for Georgia Tech.

ATS and Total Picks

  • ATS Pick: Georgia Tech +7.5 (-115)
  • Total Pick: Under 151.5 (-108)

Final Score Prediction

  • Projected Final Score: Notre Dame 76, Georgia Tech 71

How to Bet

This game profiles as competitive and imperfect. Both teams are dealing with injuries and depth issues, which makes it hard to trust either side to pull away.

I prefer Georgia Tech plus the points because Notre Dameโ€™s offensive structure has changed without Burton, and Haralsonโ€™s status adds uncertainty. I also lean under because both teams may struggle to string together efficient stretches.
