Iowa State

TJ Otzelberger’s Cyclones might be coming off an upset loss to Texas Tech at Ames, but that result could quietly create value in this number. Though only 5-4 straight up as a true visitor this season, Iowa State has shown it can collect high-end scalps away from home, including a win over St John’s in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week and another decisive performance at Purdue.

The Cyclones balance the floor exceptionally well. Former Saint Mary’s forward Joshua Jefferson leads the way at 16.8 points per game, anchoring an offense that averages 83 points per contest. Wing Milan Momcilovic adds 17.4 points per game and leads the nation at 50.9 percent from three-point range, while senior point guard Tamin Lipsey, a four-year Big 12 starter, contributes 13 points per game and steady leadership. Iowa State has multiple avenues to generate offense and the versatility to trade points in a hostile environment.

Arizona

Arizona looked unstoppable in Tucson on Saturday while avenging an earlier loss to Kansas, overwhelming the Jayhawks with a 48-26 rebounding edge. The Wildcats welcomed back freshman forward Koa Peat, who contributed 12 points, and Brayden Burries has surged recently, averaging 22 points per game over the past two contests.

Tommy Lloyd continues to draw praise for keeping a roster filled with freshmen stars unified and productive. While other newcomer-heavy teams have struggled to maintain cohesion, Arizona has remained focused. That said, the Wildcats are not without blemishes, with recent slips against Kansas and Texas Tech and close calls versus BYU, Houston, and Baylor over the past two weeks.

Iowa State vs Arizona

The disparate weekend results may have nudged this line slightly, but Iowa State’s ability to score and defend in stretches makes the points attractive. The Cyclones have enough perimeter firepower and interior versatility to stay within striking distance, especially if Arizona’s recent surge leads to a touch of market inflation.

From a totals perspective, both teams have leaned Under in recent weeks. Iowa State is 11-4-1 to the Under in its last sixteen, while Arizona is 9-3 to the Under in its last twelve. With postseason positioning intensifying and both teams capable of defending when locked in, a slightly slower tempo could develop.

ISU has seen a strong run of Unders recently, while ARIZ has mirrored that trend with nine Unders in its last twelve games. The spread movement shows consistent public backing of Arizona, particularly in earlier entries where the Wildcats drew heavy ticket percentages.

Key Injuries and Notes - Iowa State vs Arizona

Koa Peat’s return adds depth and scoring to Arizona’s frontcourt rotation. Brayden Burries’ recent scoring surge provides another offensive spark. Iowa State counters with a balanced trio in Jefferson, Momcilovic, and Lipsey, offering experience and versatility that can steady the Cyclones in a road environment.

ATS and Total Picks

  • ATS Pick: Iowa State +7.5
  • Total Pick: Under 147.5

Final Score Prediction

Arizona 74, Iowa State 71
