Nevada Battles the West Coast
The Nevada Wolf Pack have stayed on their side of the country, as their last six games have been against teams in the Pacific Time Zone, but have only gone 3-3 over that stretch. They come into this game off two consecutive wins, having taken down San Francisco at a neutral site, and UC San Diego at home. In the San Diego game, Corey Camper Jr. led the way with 15 points in the win.
Camper has been their leading scorer this season as a 6'5 senior wing. He played his last two seasons at UTEP as a regular starter averaging double figures, and now he came over to Nevada for his final season where he is averaging 15.9 PPG. Camper is their top outside shooter, having made 16 threes on 37.2% shooting from deep. Tayshawn Comer is their point guard, he is a 6'1 senior who transferred over from Evansville where he averaged over 16 points per game. This season Comer is getting 14.3 PPG and 4.0 APG. Elijah Price is an athletic 6'9 sophomore forward adding 11.8 PPG and 8.0 RPG.
Nevada is ranked 100th overall out of 365 Division I teams according to KenPom. They are 97th in offensive efficiency and 108th in defensive efficiency. They play at a relatively slow pace, ranking 230th in tempo based on their pace of play.

Cougars Adjust to New Life
The Washington State Cougars were one of the two teams in the Pac-12 that was not able to find a new home, and they landed in the West Coast Conference for basketball. This is the conference that Gonzaga has dominated for nearly the past two decades, but Washington State hopes to bring their big game pedigree to the table to compete near the top of the conference. The start of this season has been rocky, as they come into this game off consecutive losses to Arizona State, Seton Hall and Bradley.
In their most recent game against Bradley, they were led by Ace Glass with 15 points in the tightly battled defeat. Glass has been their leading scorer this season, and is their only player averaging in double figures as he leads the team with 17.3 PPG as a 6'3 freshman guard out of California. Glass was originally coming off the bench in the first six games, until the coaching staff realized he was their best player and has started the last three games. ND Okafor is a strong 6'9, 250 pound junior forward out of Ireland, he is adding 9.9 PPG and 5.6 RPG. The Cougars have a strong international recruiting base, as Emeli Yalaho is a 6'8 junior out of Finland adding 9.7 PPG and 5.0 RPG.
Washington State is ranked 165th overall according to KenPom. They are 112th in offensive efficiency and 265th in defensive efficiency. They play only slightly faster than Nevada, ranking 183rd in pace of play.

Spread pick for Nevada vs. Washington State
- Nevada to cover (5 units)
This Washington State team is at a loss. They were once in the mighty Pac-12 with the West Coast powerhouses, but now they are stuck in the WCC, and struggling to even compete. Gonzaga still gets the best players in this conference, evidenced by them boat-racing Kentucky in a recent matchup. Washington State was able to grab one strong player in Ace Glass, but that is not enough to hold off this Nevada team. The Wolf Pack are solid at all levels, Camper is a strong wing, Comer can run the point, and Price is athletic enough to patrol the paint. Nevada will be too much here.
Take Nevada -2.5
Over/Under Pick for Nevada vs. Washington State
- Under 152 (4 units)
Neither of these teams play at a fast pace, as KenPom has them both outside the top 180 teams in pace of play. Washington State is 183rd in tempo, with Nevada even further behind at 230th. These teams will fall in a comfortable rhythm and play at a slow pace in this West Coast battle. Nevada is on the road, but their 108th ranked defense should be able to go toe-to-toe with the 112th ranked offense of Washington State. The Cougars only have one scorer, and Nevada can send all their defensive pressure to Glass in hopes of locking down their offensive attack. This will be a low scoring game.
