Ohio State vs. Pitt Pick
Ohio State vs. Pitt Spread Pick
- Ohio State -5.5 (4 units)
While Ohio State is on the road for the first time this season and they haven’t won a true non-conference road game since beating Notre Dame back on December 8, 2020, the fact remains that they are unbeaten on the year. Meanwhile, Pitt has dropped three of four entering this game with each of those defeats coming by double figures. The Panthers don’t shoot the ball all that well and facing a Buckeyes squad that is fifth in Division I in field goal percentage is going to be challenging. Pitt is at home and they are sound defensively but their offense can’t keep up with the Buckeyes. Take Ohio State in this contest as they come up with the road victory.
Ohio State vs. Pitt Spread Pick
- Under 146.5 (4 units)
Ohio State has gone over the mark in three of their six games. The Buckeyes are 5th in field goal percentage, first in two-point shooting (67.4%), 36th in three-point shooting, second in effective field goal percentage (63%), 28th in free throw rate (.482 FT attempts per FG attempt) and 20th in free throws made per game (21.5) this season. Ohio State is 141st in tempo with 70.3 possessions per contest. Pitt has stayed under the total in five of their seven games this season as they take the floor here. The Panthers are 94th in defensive efficiency, 84th in effective field goal percentage defense (47.1%), 106th in field goal percentage defense (41.1%), 63rd in scoring defense and 73rd in two-point defense (46%) this season. Pitt is a slow-paced team as they are 344th in adjusted tempo with 66 possessions a night. Both teams are sound defensively and the Panthers will try to slow this to a grind. Lean toward the under in this contest as a result.
