Oregon vs. Maryland Spread Pick

  • Oregon -1.5 (4 units)

Oregon has won three of four but that run came on the heels of five straight defeats. The Ducks are 7-0 against teams ranked 100th or lower in the KenPom rankings but they are 0-6 against teams ranked in the top 51 on the year. Maryland is 99th in the KenPom rankings entering Thursday so this will be an interesting litmus test for the Ducks. Both teams have injury concerns with a key scoring option on both sides questionable here. Payne’s presence is a big factor for Maryland as he leads the team in scoring and rebounding. If he can’t go or is limited, that makes for a big game from Bittle, who was terrific against Omaha. Take the Ducks in a close one here.

Oregon vs. Maryland Over/Under Pick

  • Over 151.5 (4 units)

Oregon has seen the over post an 8-5 mark in their 13 games on the year. The Ducks are 69th in offensive efficiency, 172nd in effective field goal percentage (51.3%), 227th in turnover percentage (18.2%) and 20th in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage (38.6%) on the year. The Ducks are 202nd in adjusted tempo with 68.6 possessions a night. Maryland enters this game having seen the over post a 9-4 mark in their 13 games on the year. The Terrapins are 267th in effective field goal percentage defense (53.9%), 250th in two-point defense (52.1%) and 349th in three-point defense (37.6%) on the season. Maryland is an average-paced team as they are 184th in the nation in tempo with an average of 69.1 possessions per game. If Oregon gets good perimeter looks against a soft Maryland defense, they could have a big night offensively. Look to the over in this contest as a result.
