Gaels Looking to Keep Pace in WCC Race

Saint Mary’s won their second straight and fourth in the last five games as they rolled past San Francisco at home Saturday in their previous contest. The Gaels improved to 21-4 and stand third in the WCC standings, trailing Santa Clara and Gonzaga. Against San Francisco, Saint Mary’s trailed 3-0 and 5-3 before scoring the next seven points for a 10-5 advantage. The Gaels didn’t let the Dons even again, building an 11-point margin at the half. Saint Mary’s led by as many as 29 in the second half as they cruised to the win. The Gaels shot 47.8% from the floor, including nine of 20 from three-point range, and dominated the boards by a 47-29 margin. Paulius Murauskas led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds as one of five players in double figures for Saint Mary’s in the win.
