Last Saturday, the Pirates trounced the Scarlet Knights as 12.5-point home favorites. Seton Hall made 54.8% of its field goals (4-for-13 from deep) while holding Rutgers to 35.8% shooting from the field (6-for-15 from deep). The Pirates outscored the Scarlet Knights 52-24 in the paint.
Senior guard AJ Staton-McCray dropped 18 points on Rutgers. He averages 14.3 points and 3.9 rebounds, while junior guard Adam Clark tallies 10.2 points and 5.5 assists per game. Seton Hall scores 111.5 points per 100 possessions (103rd in the nation) and allows 97.4 points in return (25th).
Providence is coming off a heartbreaking loss
The Providence Friars (7-5; 7-5 ATS; 9-3 O/U) put an end to their three-game winning streak last Saturday. After beating Fairleigh Dickinson 94-64, Rhode Island 90-71, and Brown 86-79, the Friars suffered a 113-110 double-overtime defeat at Butler.

Seton Hall vs. Providence Pick
Spread Pick for Seton Hall vs. Providence
- Seton Hall (4 units)
This game will be a joy to watch. Seton Hall leans on its stout defense and prefers to play at a slow pace, whereas Providence relies on its prolific offense and loves to play fast.
These two teams match up against each other very well, as both lack height. The Pirates are arguably a better rebounding team than Providence, so I will lean on Seton Hall’s defense and rebounding to make the difference.
Providence makes 36.0% of its shots from deep (82nd in the country) and allows its opponents to shoot 37.6% from downtown (325th). Seton Hall doesn’t rely on 3-pointers (342nd in the country in 3-point rate), but that could easily change in a matchup like this one.
Over/Under Pick for Seton Hall vs. Providence
- Over (4 units)
Despite the Pirates’ sturdy defense and slow pace, I have to take the over in this game. The Friars will look to push the ball in transition whenever they can. They take good care of the ball (43rd in the nation in turnover percentage, 14.8%), though Seton Hall ranks fourth in the country in defensive turnover percentage (24.2%).
The Friars can score, but their defense has struggled a lot this season. The over is 9-3 in Providence’s 12 outings in 2025-26, and it is 4-2 in Seton Hall’s last six games overall. Also, four of their previous six encounters have gone over the total.
