First Test for Texas A&M
Most big programs in college hoops open their season up with some games they know will be easy wins, which the Texas A&M Aggies did with their first two games against Northwestern State and Texas Southern. This will be the biggest test for the Aggies in this young season, as they will play a true road game against OK State from the Big 12. In their most recent game, the Aggies scored 104 points, led by Rashuan Agee with 16 in the easy win.
Agee is a strong 6'7 and 230-pound senior forward who has played for several teams in his college basketball career. He started at New Mexico State before moving on to Bowling Green and USC before making his way to A&M. He is averaging 14.0 PPG to start the season with his new team. Ruben Dominguez is tied for the team lead in scoring with Agee, as they are both getting 14 per game. Dominguez is a 6'6 sophomore guard who is joined on the perimeter by Rylan Griffen, who was a big catch in the transfer portal. Griffen came over from Alabama as an athletic wing and is averaging 13.5 PPG and can stretch the floor with his outside shot.
Texas A&M is ranked 31st overall according to KenPom. They are 32nd in offensive efficiency and 33rd in defensive efficiency. The Aggies play fast, they are ranked 16th in the nation in pace of play out of 365 Division I teams.

Cowboys Look to Rebuild
The Oklahoma State Cowboys were forced to reload over the offseason, as they lost three double-digit scorers from last season. They made use of the transfer portal and brought in some freshmen to help them compete in the tough Big 12. OK State opened with an easy win in their first game, easily taking down Oral Roberts while scoring 95 points in the process. In that game, they were led by sophomore guard Vyctorious Miller with 21 points in the victory.
Miller is a 6'5 perimeter player and came over from LSU, where he played last season as a freshman. He averaged 8.9 PPG last season with the Tigers and looks to up his production this year for Oklahoma State. Another prize in the transfer portal was Isaiah Coleman, who averaged 15.6 PPG with Seton Hall last season. Coleman did not play in the opener and is questionable with an injury here. The Cowboys have another Coleman on the team, as Christian Coleman is a 6'8 senior forward who opened the season with a double-double, going for 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Oklahoma State is ranked 72nd overall according to KenPom. They are 75th in offensive efficiency and 73rd in defensive efficiency. They play even faster than the Aggies, ranking 3rd in the nation in pace of play.
Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma State Picks and Predictions
Spread pick for Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma State
- Texas A&M to cover (5 units)
This is an early-season clash of two programs that will look to compete for tournament berths this season. Oklahoma State lost a lot of their offense from last season, as its top three scorers left the program. It also looks like Isaiah Coleman will be out of this game again, and he was the top player they brought in from the transfer portal. This means Oklahoma State will be young and not ready for the physicality Texas A&M will bring. Agee is a man playing against boys, as the 22-year-old will dominate the paint with his intense play and will lead the Aggies to this cover.
Take Texas A&M against the spread.
Over/Under Pick for Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma State
- Over (4 units)
There will be no brakes applied in this game. According to KenPom, these are two of the fastest-paced teams in the nation, and they will fly up and down the floor in their first big matchup of the season. Oklahoma State put up 95 points in their first game, while Texas A&M has already gone over 100 in one of their games as well. The offense will click, while the defense struggles, as this is the first power conference team they have seen. Expect a high-scoring game in this one.
Take the over.
