UCF Knights (17-4) vs. Houston Cougars (19-2)

The 2025-26 college basketball season continues Wednesday, February 4, with the UCF Knights facing off against the No. 8 Houston Cougars in the Big 12 Conference showdown at Fertitta Center in Houston, TX, so we have prepared the UCF vs. Houston prediction to get you covered.

UCF meets Houston for the first time this season, and the Cougars shoot for their 11th consecutive victory over the Knights. Yet, Houston hasn’t covered the spread in three straight dates with UCF. Last season, the Cougars outlasted the Knights 69-68 as 13.5-point road favorites.

Now, let’s take a closer look at this UCF vs. Houston prediction, one of our NCAAB picks for Wednesday’s slate. The tip-off at Fertitta Center is set at 7:00 PM ET.

UCF aims for its fourth straight victory

The UCF Knights (17-4; 11-9-1 ATS; 8-13 O/U) extended their winning streak to three games last Saturday, advancing to 6-3 in conference play. After a 95-86 road victory over Colorado and a 79-76 home win against Arizona State, the Knights stunned the No. 11 Texas Tech 88-80 as 5.5-point home underdogs.

UCF outrebounded Texas Tech 35-23 and committed seven fewer turnovers than the Red Raiders (13-6). The Knights went 6-for-13 from downtown and 18-for-22 from the foul line while handing out 19 assists. Senior guard Themus Fulks tortured Texas Tech for 21 points and seven assists, while sophomore center John Bol double-doubled with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Knights have four players with points per game in double figures, including Fulks (14.2 PPG, 7.2 APG). Senior guard Riley Kugel tallies 14.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, and senior forward Jamichael Stillwell adds 12.4 points and 8.1 boards a night.

UCF scores 121.5 points per 100 possessions (37th in the nation) and allows 105.0 points in return (91st). The Knights make 38.2% of their shots from deep (18th) and are a top-30 team in the nation in both offensive (37.1%) and defensive rebound percentage (73.4%). They are No. 37 in the NCAA NET Rankings.

Houston eyes its third straight W

The Houston Cougars (19-2; 12-9 ATS; 10-11 O/U) put an end to their 11-game winning streak on January 24, suffering a 90-86 road loss against then-No. 12 Texas Tech. Since then, the Cougars strung together a couple of wins over TCU 79-70 and Cincinnati 76-54 to advance to 7-1 in conference play.

Last Saturday, Houston cruised past Cincinnati, covering a 13.5-point spread at home. The Cougars forced the Bearcats into 19 turnovers while committing just four in return. Houston outscored Cincinnati 26-8 in the paint and notched 26 points off turnovers.

Senior guard Milos Uzan tortured Cincinnati for 16 points, five assists, and three steals. Uzan (11.4 PPG, 4.0 APG) is one of three Cougars with points per game in double digits, and freshman guard Kingston Flemings leads the way with 17.0 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds a night. Flemings had 42 points in that narrow loss at Texas Tech.

The Cougars score 127.7 points per 100 possessions (4th in the country) and surrender 93.9 points in return (7th). They are a top-five team in the country in both offensive (12.9%) and defensive turnover percentage (23.3%). Houston is No. 9 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 8 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

Spread Pick for UCF vs. Houston

  • UCF +13.5 (5 units)

Houston just routed Cincinnati, and each of the Cougars’ last three home wins has come by at least 22 points. Yet, UCF is arguably a better team than Cincinnati. The Knights just managed to beat Texas Tech, albeit at home.

UCF has weapons to hurt Houston. As I noted, the Knights are a great rebounding team. On the other side, the Cougars are 19th in the country in offensive rebound percentage (37.4%), but they rank 241st in defensive rebound percentage (67.9%).

Moreover, the Knights are a great 3-point shooting team, and the Cougars allow a lot of shots from deep (294th in opposing 3-point rate, 43.0%). UCF doesn’t turn the ball over a lot, and with Themus Fulks at point guard, the Knights should be able to hang around in this game.

Over/Under Pick for UCF vs. Houston

  • Under 147.5 (5 units)

The Knights have to control the defensive glass and take good care of the ball if they want to keep it close in this matchup. Houston loves to crash the offensive glass and play aggressive defense. As I noted above, the Cougars are third in the nation in defensive turnover percentage.

The Cougars take great care of the ball and play at a slow pace. They register just 63.5 possessions per 40 minutes. On the other side, the Knights tally 68.7 possessions per 40 minutes (109th). However, I don’t think the Knights will look to speed things up in this game.

The under is 7-2 in UCF’s last nine games overall, and it is 6-3 in Houston’s previous nine. Five of the last seven encounters between these two schools have gone under the total.
