UMass vs. Western Michigan Pick

UMass vs. Western Michigan Spread Pick

  • UMass -2.5 (4 units)

Western Michigan has been much better at home (6-2) than on the road (1-7) this season, so they have that working for them. The problem for the Broncos is that they have had all kinds of issues when it comes to slowing opposing teams from putting points on the board. UMass dropped both their road games this season, falling by six at Eastern Michigan and by three at Ohio, but they also own a win over Florida State on a neutral floor. Frank Martin saw his team earn their first conference win of the year and that should give them some momentum. The Minutemen take advantage of the Broncosโ€™ defensive woes to get the win.

UMass vs. Western Michigan Over/Under Pick

  • Under 161.5 (4 units)

UMass runs a lot, ranking 18th in tempo with 72.7 possessions a night, but they are 134th in effective field goal percentage (52.7%), 171st in three-point shooting and 181st in two-point shooting (52.9%) this season. For the season, the Minutemen have seen the over post a 10-6 mark in their 16 games on the year. On the year, the Broncos have seen the over post an 8-6 mark in their 14 games with a posted total. Western Michigan is 203rd in offensive efficiency and 286th in defensive efficiency this season. The Broncos are 238th in effective field goal percentage defense (52.5%), 138th in three-point field goal percentage defense (32.3%) and 318th in two-point field goal percentage defense (54.7%) on the year. Western Michigan is 126th in tempo with an average of 69.1 possessions a night. UMass gets its points but itโ€™s hard to have faith in the Broncos doing enough offensively. Take the under as a result.
