VCU Rams are back on a roll
VCU started 2026 with a road win over Duquesne, but then lost to Saint Louis at home (71-62) and George Mason (86-80) on the road, before winning five straight. Those weren't bad losses, but it has to be a concern that these two teams are a fraction ahead of the Rams at this point. VCU is used to being on top or close to it in the Atlantic 10 and still has time to get to the postseason.
They last played on Friday, beating Loyola-Chicago 89-75, but had to rally from being down 15 points in the first half against one of the worst teams in the league and country at home. Terrence Hill Jr. led the Rams with 24 points and five assists, while Tyrell Ward added 15 points. VCU committed just six turnovers and forced 13.
Forcing turnovers has always been a staple of the VCU defense, though they rank 116th (12.5 per game) in forcing turnovers and they're not using as much pressure (Havoc) defense as they used to. According to KenPom, the Rams rank 48th overall, 38th in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and 95th in Adjusted Defense.

Fordham picks up big road win over GW
The Fordham Rams had lost three straight games before beating La Salle at home 64-58 as a 5.5-point favorite on Jan. 31. That wasn't a big deal, but on Saturday, they shocked the A-10 with a 79-65 road win over George Washington as an 11.5-point dog. This was a big win, even if the Revolutionaries were 5-5 in the league and slumping. They were also 9-2 at home, while Fordham was 1-4 on the road.
Dejour Reaves led the Rams with 19 points and six assists, though he shot 0-5 from three-point range. Fordham crushed GW on the road boards by 16 and held them to 39% shooting from the field.
The Rams shot just 26% from three-point range against GW and that's been an issue all season as they rank 354th in three-point shooting percentage (29.1%), but shoot a solid 45% (198th) from the field. In terms of KenPom, Fordham ranks 175th overall, 243rd in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and 113th in Adjusted Defense.

VCU vs. Fordham Prediction, Odds and Picks
- Fordham +7.5 (5 units)
As good as VCU is, they've covered just three games of their last 10 and twice in their last seven. They were double-digit favorites in their last two games and didn't cover them, so they are a bit overvalued. At home, Fordham wants to slow the pace down as they don't want to get into a track meet with the Rams. VCU is 3-2 on the road, but what's troubling is their road defense (50.2 FG%). Fordham can take advantage as they shoot 45.4% from the field at home. Another strength of Fordham is its rebounding, as it ranks 19th in total rebound rate, while VCU ranks 97th. Fordham covers this at home with ease.
Over/Under Pick for VCU vs. Fordham
- Under 147.5 (4 units)
Fordham ranks 331st in Adjusted Tempo, so they want this game at a snail's pace, and the VCU Rams are 115th. Since Fordham is at home, they'll be able to play more methodically. Even VCU has been playing unders lately, going 3-1 in their last four games. Fordham has gone under in five straight and six of seven. They are also averaging just 6.8 three-pointers per game to rank 292nd so that is not a major part of their game, and another reason why they rank 311th in points per game at 71.6.
