Auburn Tigers (3-1) vs. Texas A&M Aggies (3-0) 

Week 5 of the 2025 college football season is upon us, and in this preview, we are breaking down Saturday’s clash from Kyle Field in College Station, TX, to get you the Auburn vs. Texas A&M prediction.

Auburn and Texas A&M lock horns for the 14th straight season. Last year, the Tigers outlasted the Aggies 43-41 as 2.5-point home underdogs, and the game flew over the 47.5-point line. Auburn is a 6.5-point road dog this time around, while the total sits at 52.5 points.

Auburn hopes to get back on track                                               

The Auburn Tigers (3-1; 1-3 ATS; 1-3 O/U) started their 2025 campaign with a three-game winning streak. After a 38-24 road victory over Baylor, the Tigers strung together a couple of home wins against Ball State, 42-3, and South Alabama, 31-15.

Auburn’s first loss of the season came in Week 4. The Tigers suffered a 24-17 defeat at No. 11 Oklahoma, failing to cover a 6.5-point spread. Auburn had a 17-16 lead with 7:08 remaining in he fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on.

The Tigers racked up just 287 total yards last week. They were 3-for-15 on third down, and the Tigers mustered only 67 yards on 35 rushing attempts. Auburn committed 13 penalties for 85 yards and didn’t really deserve to come out on top.

“We lost a tough one on the road in a very good conference against a highly ranked team," Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said. "And we didn’t play our best and had a chance to win it.”

Junior QB Jackson Arnold was sacked nine times in Week 4. He went 21-of-32 for 220 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore WR Cam Coleman had three receptions for 88 yards and a TD. Arnold has thrown for 721 yards and five touchdowns this season while scoring four times on his own.

Despite a bad offensive performance against Oklahoma, the Tigers still average 198.3 rushing yards per game (42nd in the nation) and 5.0 yards per carry (tied for 42nd). Auburn allows 58.3 rushing yards (5th) and 232.8 passing yards per game (91st).

Texas A&M eyes its fourth straight W                                                

The No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies (3-0; 1-2 ATS; 3-0 O/U) are coming off a bye. After a couple of home wins against UTSA 42-24 and Utah State 44-22, the Aggies outlasted the No. 8 Notre Dame 41-40 as 7.5-point road underdogs in Week 3.

Texas A&M outgained Notre Dame 488-429 in total yards. The Aggies overcame a 10-point deficit, and senior RB Le’Veon Moss led the way with 20 carries for 81 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore QB Marcel Reed threw for 360 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, while sophomore WR Mario Craver had seven catches for 207 yards and a TD.

“I don’t know that anything went to script in terms of how you want to go about winning a game on the road,” Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said. “We just kept fighting, kept battling, kept scrapping. Ultimately, we made one more play than they did.”

The Aggies’ offense has done a great job through the first three weeks of the season. Texas A&M tallies 42.3 points per game (20th in the nation) on 323.3 passing yards (16th) and 157.0 rushing yards (74th). Reed has thrown for nine touchdowns and an interception, while Craver has amassed 443 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, the Aggies allow 28.7 points per game (103rd) on 211.7 passing yards (68th) and 139.0 rushing yards (72nd). They lost safety Bryce Anderson in Week 3. Anderson suffered an injury and was carted off the field.

• Auburn +6.5 (5 units) 

On paper, the Aggies are a better offensive team than the Tigers. The Aggies’ passing offense has been terrific thus far, and Mario Carver looks like one of the best wideouts in the country. However, the Tigers are a solid defensive unit. I expect them to keep it close in this matchup.

Over the past four weeks, it’s been impossible to run efficiently against Auburn. The Tigers hold Oklahoma to 32 rushing yards. There are flaws in the Aggies’ defense, and the Tigers will find a way to score enough to beat the number.

The betting trends won’t help a lot. Auburn is 1-4 ATS in its last five games overall, and Texas A&M has beaten the number just once in its previous eight outings at any location. The Aggies are 3-2 SU and ATS in their last five dates with the Tigers.

Over/Under Pick for Auburn vs. Texas A&M    

• Over 52.5 (5 units) 

The Aggies have surpassed a 40-point mark in each of their previous three outings in 2025. I expect the Tigers to hold Texas A&M below the 40-point mark, but this game will still go over the line.

Texas A&M is not a great defensive team. As I said, the Tigers will find a way to move the ball in this matchup. They will score more than they did against Oklahoma.

Auburn leans on its defense, and the under has hit in four of the Tigers’ last five games overall. Also, five of their previous six road tilts have gone under. On the other side, the over is 5-1 in the Aggies’ last six games overall and 9-2 in their last 11 showings in conference play.
