Gavin Wimsatt has completed 56 percent of his passes for 593 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also has 236 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Cam Cook leads the team with 160 carries for 949 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Brock Rechsteiner leads the team with 20 catches for 263 yards and four touchdowns.

In their win over the Blue Hens on Oct. 15, JSU ran for 255 yards and Caden Creel completed 14 of 21 for 116 yards with a TD. Creel injured his elbow in the Delaware game and is questionable for this one. Creel is the second-leading rusher behind Cook with 438 yards and three TDs, while throwing for 386 yards. If he can't go, the Gamecocks are in solid shape with Wimsatt.

Jacksonville State vs. Middle Tennessee State Picks

Point Spread Pick for Jacksonville State vs. Middle Tennessee State

  • Jacksonville State Gamecocks -6 (4 Units)

The Gamecocks have won three of their last four games, while the Blue Raiders have lost four straight games. Jacksonville State has the edge here because they’re very good offensively, with one of the best ground games in the country. The Blue Raiders aren’t very good defensively, and they’ve had trouble slowing down the run, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Gamecocks. Even if they return to Wimsatt at quarterback, they still have a distinct advantage and don't lose much on offense.

Middle Tennessee State will have a hard time keeping up with the Gamecocks because they have one of the worst offenses in the country, and rely heavily on their passing game. With the Blue Raiders rushing for less than 100 yards per game, the Gamecocks don’t have to worry about them getting beaten on the ground, which will allow them to focus on defending the pass. Go with Jacksonville State to cover the spread.

Over/Under Pick for Jacksonville State vs. Middle Tennessee State

  • Over 54.5 (4 Units)

The Gamecocks played over the total in their last three games, while the Blue Raiders played over the total in two of their last four games. Middle Tennessee State averages 18.6 points per game. They throw the ball 62 percent of the time with the 27th-ranked passing attack in the country, and they’re facing a defense that is 107th against the pass, and is giving up 26.6 points per game. The Gamecocks average 30.7 points per game. They run the ball 68 percent of the time with the third-ranked ground game in the country, and they’re facing a team that is 55th against the run and is giving up 29.7 points per game. Expect these teams to score enough points to push the score over the total.
