Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns vs. Missouri Tigers Prediction and Picks - September 13, 2025
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Missouri Tigers will get together in Columbia on Saturday for a matchup that appears to be one-sided on paper.
Check out David Delano's Louisiana vs Missouri prediction.
Missouri has steamrolled its first two opponents, averaging over 50 points per game while mixing balance on the ground and through the air. Louisiana comes in 1-1 as well, and their offense has struggled to find its rhythm early.

Looking for a clear QB1
Louisiana has gotten off to a 1-1, losing an ugly 14-12 game to Rice and then rolling McNeese 34-10. The offensive issues have been glaring early. The Cajuns have tried two quarterbacks, Walker Howard and Daniel Beale, with limited success. Combined, they’re under 50% completion and only averaging 87 passing yards per game, ranking near the very bottom in the FBS. That lack of aerial attack makes everything hinge on running back Bill Davis, who leads with 190 rushing yards, and the offensive line’s ability to create push. Louisiana does run the ball fairly well, ranking 24th nationally with 233 yards per game on the ground.
The competition has not been stiff, but thee defense, giving up just 12 points per contest, has looked solid, with linebacker Terrence Williams as the early anchor and Jalen Clark providing a takeaway in the secondary.
The challenge this week will be steeping up to play a top-tier SEC offense, after opening up with Tulsa, and FCS foe McNeese.
Tigers rolling early
Missouri is off to a strong start after they crushed Central Arkansas 61-6 and beat Kansas 42-31 last week. Quarterback Beau Pribula has settled in quickly, already throwing for 617 yards while spreading it around to targets like Kevin Coleman Jr., who leads with 174 receiving yards. The ground game is equally dangerous, as Ahmad Hardy has rumbled for 212 yards behind a physical offensive line. Missouri ranks top 25 nationally in both rushing and passing while averaging 51.5 points per game.
On defense, linebacker Josiah Trotter is leading the tackling effort, and both Daylan Carnell and defensive tackle Dante McClellan already have interceptions, showing that even the big men are involved in splash plays.
Missouri sits at 2-0, with the look of a group trying to prove it belongs in the upper half of the SEC by dismantling weaker foes. Against Louisiana, they’ll have every opportunity to showcase their talent and depth, and this could turn into a blowout before halftime.
Louisiana vs. Missouri Pick
Spread Pick for Louisiana vs. Missouri
- Missouri -27.5 (4 units)
Louisiana has shown flashes through the run game, but against this level of talent, the Cajuns’ lack of passing ability is going to catch up quickly. Missouri has built its success on balance, and there is no indication this defense will be challenged here. With SEC size in the trenches and real dynamic playmakers all over the field, the Tigers should control both lines of scrimmage and put the game away early.
Louisiana would need turnovers and long possessions to shorten the game, but this Mizzou team is humming too efficiently to allow it. Given what we have seen the past two weeks, take Mizzou to cover the four-TD spread.
Total Pick for Louisiana vs. Missouri
- Over 47.5 (4 units)
The Missouri Tigers could score this number on their own, given their pace. Missouri is averaging more than 50 points through two weeks, and their ability to run and throw in equal measure makes it very difficult to contain.
Even if the Cajuns barely crack double digits, Missouri could do enough damage to sail past this total, especially if backups get involved and the pace opens up late. Take the over here.
