Bulldogs Trying to Move Toward Bowl Eligibility

Louisiana Tech snapped a two-game slide as they obliterated Sam Houston State at home in their previous contest last Friday. The Bulldogs improved to 5-3 overall on the year and stand 3-2 in Conference USA action. Against Sam Houston State, Louisiana Tech built a big halftime edge and poured it on en route to the win. The Bulldogs were up 14-0 after the opening quarter and 28-0 at the half. They never let the Bearkats closer than 21 the rest of the way. Louisiana Tech rolled up a 646-502 edge in total offense and picked up 29 first downs while allowing 20 in the win. Those numbers helped the Bulldogs overcome losing time of possession by a 31:08 to 28:52 margin and turning the ball over twice while recording one takeaway. Louisiana Tech vs. Delaware Prediction

Spread Pick for Louisiana Tech vs. Delaware

  • Louisiana Tech -5.5 (4 units)

As good as Delaware was at the FCS level, itโ€™s still a jump in competition, even against middle-of-the-road FBS schools like UConn. The Blue Hens were reminded of that after they were punched in the mouth by Liberty last week. Delaware has won three of their four home games this season, but their defense has been leaky, allowing 28.25 points per contest in those games. Louisiana Tech is just 1-2 on the road, but their losses were to LSU and Kennesaw State. The Bulldogs are coming in off a blowout win, and they have momentum on their side here. Take Louisiana Tech to prevail and keep pace in Conference USA.

Over/Under Pick for Louisiana Tech vs. Delaware

  • Under 57.5 (4 units)

Louisiana Tech has seen the under hit in five of their eight games on the year. The Bulldogs have stayed under the number in all three of their road games this season. Louisiana Tech has been very good on the defensive side of the ball, having allowed more than 23 points just twice this season. Delaware has split their eight games in relation to the total this season. The Blue Hens split their four home games in relation to the total on the year. The Blue Hens will have their problems against a Bulldogsโ€™ defense that has forced 15 turnovers on the year. A couple of well-timed miscues derail drives, and that keeps this game under the total.
