Miami vs. Virginia Tech Prediction

Spread Pick for Miami vs. Virginia Tech

  • Miami -17.5 (4 units)

Miami bounced back from their loss to SMU as they trounced NC State and Syracuse the last two weeks by a combined 79-17 margin. The Hurricanes are trying to get back in the mix for the CFP as they suffered losses to SMU and Louisville earlier in the year. Virginia Tech has been better under Philip Montgomery, going 3-4 under him after starting the year 0-3 under Brent Pry. The fact remains that the Hokies have struggled offensively this season and they have had issues slowing the opposition as well. Even playing at home doesn’t help the Hokies here as Miami rolls to a victory.

Over/Under Pick for Miami vs. Virginia Tech

  • Under 49 (4 units)

Miami comes in having seen the under post a 6-4 mark in their 10 games on the year. The Hurricanes stayed under the total in both their road contests this season, combining for 50 points to stay under the number of 54.5 in a six-point win over Florida State on October 4 and 46 points against a number of 50.5 in the loss to SMU. Virginia Tech has stayed under the number in five of their nine games on the year entering this contest. The Hokies are below average in scoring offense on the year. They have scored 20 points or fewer five times on the year and 23 points in two other contests. Virginia Tech has stayed under the number in six of their 10 games on the year. Take the under here as Virginia Tech struggles to move the ball here.
