In their last game, Oklahoma defeated No. 14 Tennessee 33-27 on the road on Saturday, Nov. 1. Tennessee grabbed a 17-16 lead in the third quarter before Oklahoma scored 10 unanswered points to put them in the driver’s seat. Quarterback John Mateer scored a short rushing touchdown two minutes left to ice the game.
Mateer threw for 159 yards 19-for-29 passing with zero touchdowns and one interception. He did rush for 80 yards and the touchdown. Xavier Robinson had a big game with 115 yards rushing and a score.
This season, Mateer has thrown for 1,949 yards and has completed 64% of his passes. He has thrown eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Mateer does lead the team with six rushing touchdowns.
