ODU vs. Georgia Southern Prediction
Spread Pick for ODU vs. Georgia Southern
- ODU -12 (4 units)
Sure, Georgia Southern has won two straight and has home field advantage here but the fact remains that they are struggling to slow down opposing teams. The Eagles are 129th in scoring defense and they are weak against both the pass (245.1 yards per game) and especially the ground (220.8 yards per game, 28 touchdowns) this season. That’s bad news against a Monarchs squad that puts up 456.9 yards per game, including 216.4 yards per game, 5.6 yards per carry and 20 scores on the ground. Old Dominion is relatively healthy and they have the firepower to take down the Eagles in this contest. Take the Monarchs as the road team here.
Over/Under Pick for Old Dominion vs. Georgia Southern
- Over 62.5 (4 units)
Old Dominion has seen the under post a 5-4-1 mark in their 10 games in relation to the total this season. The Monarchs have gone over the total in three of their five road games on the season entering this contest. Georgia Southern has gone over the number in seven of their 10 games on the year. The Eagles have gone over the total in all five of their home games this season and the teams have combined for at least 62 points in each of those games. Last year’s meeting saw the teams combine for 66 points and with Georgia Southern’s defensive issues, this game winds up over the total.
