Ole Miss Rebels vs Oklahoma Sooners Picks
Ole Miss vs Oklahoma Spread Pick
- Ole Miss +5.5 (5 units)
It’s one of the games of the week in college football as No. 8 Ole Miss travels to No. 13 Oklahoma. This is a big resume' builder for both teams when seeding for the College Football Playoff comes around. It’s all going to be decided when Ole Miss is on offense and Oklahoma is on defense. Both teams are elite on those two sides of the ball. Oklahoma’s defense hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in a win this year. Ole Miss does have the firepower to score points quickly thanks to quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy. Ole Miss had Georgia on the ropes in their last game before faltering in the fourth quarter. Ole Miss really only needs to put between 21-28 points to walk away victorious because of Oklahoma’s poor offense.
The Sooners rank 68th in scoring, while quarterback John Mateer has returned from his injury, he hasn’t looked the same as he did in the opening few weeks. Ole Miss can load the box and force some long third downs as they rank 38th in pass defense.
Take Ole Miss to cover.
Ole Miss vs Oklahoma Over/Under Pick
- Under 53.5 (5 units)
Oklahoma’s defense is elite and will force quite a few stops. Ole Miss’ defense is underrated and going against an Oklahoma offense can struggle at times. This is set for a low-scoring game, especially between two defenses that do not force turnovers. Extra possessions will not be happening much, and solid punts will back each other into opposing territory, needing long drives to score points. This is going to be low low-scoring affair simply because of those factors. The under has hit in every Oklahoma game this season and I don’t see it straying from there this week.
Take the under on Saturday.
