Oregon Eyes Sixth Straight Win

The Oregon Ducks are targeting a sixth straight win. Oregon has dropped just one game this season in a home loss against a dominant Indiana team in October. They have won five in a row, led by the defense. The Ducks issued a 42-13 home win against Minnesota two weeks ago and recorded a 42-27 home win against a ranked USC team last week to improve to 7-1 in conference play. They were 10.5-point favorites. The Ducks are ranked #6 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They have covered the spread in three of their past five games.

Dante Moore is having a very good year. The sophomore QB has connected on 60% of his passes in each game this season. Moore threw 257 passing yards last week and has registered 2447 passing yards and a 23:6 TD to INT ratio. Oregon prefers to run. Noah Whittington has rushed for more than 60 yards in all but two games. The senior RB has issued 727 rushing yards on the season. Jordan Davidson is also a threat, amassing 511 yards.

The receiving core has five players with at least 300 yards. Dakorien Moore has not played this month due to a knee injury. The freshman WR is a key player, netting 443 receiving yards on the season. The Oregon offense delivered 436 yards against the Trojans last week. This brings their season average to 519 yards per game.

The Ducks’ defense is among the best in the entire country. They have given up more than 20 points in only three games this season, two of which were against Penn State and Indiana. Bryce Boettcher has made 90 tackles and deflected three passes. The group was not as sharp last week, giving up 382 yards against USC. They are keeping opponents to 273 yards per game. The pass defense is elite, ranking fifth, while the rush defense comes in at 23rd.

Oregon is averaging 43.2 points on the season, tabbing them sixth. The Ducks are keeping opponents to 16.4 points, marking them eighth in the country.

Key Injuries for Oregon:

  • RB Jayden Limar (undisclosed) is questionable. Has 249 yards rushing and 3 TDs
  • WR Dakorien Moore (knee) is questionable. Has 28 catches for 443 yards to rank 2nd on the team.

Washington Targets Sixth Big Ten Win

The Washington Huskies are eying their sixth conference win of the season. Washington has enjoyed a strong season, dropping only three games, one of which was against #1 Ohio State early in the year. The Huskies have won three of their past four games, led by the defense. They pelted Purdue by a 49-13 score on the 8th and came away with a 48-14 road win against UCLA on Saturday in a clash that had the Huskies marked as 11.5-point favorites. The Huskies are 5-3 in conference play. They have covered the spread in three of their past five games.

Demond Williams Jr. is having a promising season. The sophomore QB has reported 257 and 213 passing yards in his past two efforts. Williams has generated 2721 passing yards and a 19:6 TD to INT ratio. He is dangerous on the ground, netting 568 yards. The running game has been mediocre. Jonah Coleman has yielded 50 or fewer yards in four of his past five games and has 651 rushing yards.

The receiving group has one player with 500 yards, Denzel Boston. The junior WR has been consistent, earning 50 or more yards in each game this season. Boston has contributed wth 730 receiving yards. Dezmen Roebuck has 527 yards. The Washington offense managed 426 yards last week. They are posting an average of 426 yards per game.

The Huskies’ defense is among the best in the Big Ten. The unit has held its opponent to 25 or fewer points in each game. They kept UCLA to 207 yards last week, improving their season average to 304 yards per game. Xe'ree Alexander has made 60 tackles. The pass defense is solid, ranking 29th, while the rush defense is especially stingy, standing 15th.

Washington is scoring an average of 35.5 points this year, ranking them 32nd. The Huskies are keeping opponents to an average of only 18.8 points, placing them 15th in the country.

Oregon vs. Washington Pick

Spread Pick for Oregon vs. Washington

  • Oregon Ducks -6.5 (5 units)

The Oregon Ducks have won five straight games. Their only defeat this season was against Indiana, which is 11-0 on the season. This is a big game as the Ducks want to improve their seeding for the College Football playoff.  The Washington Huskies are only 3-2 in their past five games. In that span, they lost to Michigan and a weak Wisconsin squad that only has four wins.

Furthermore, Oregon has a potent offense that has proven it can solve tough defensive teams. They are averaging 268 passing yards per game. The Huskies' defense is strong, but the pass defense can be improved, ranking 28th. Also, Washington does not have the offense to break through against this stingy defense. Washington QB Demond Williams Jr. is a huge threat, and his offense is averaging 260 passing yards, but the Ducks' secondary is as good as it gets. They are keeping opponents to only 160 passing yards per game. All but two of the Ducks' wins have come by double digits.

Over/Under Pick for Oregon vs. Washington

  • Over 51 (5 units)

I expect this one to have more offense than many expect. The Oregon offense has reached 30 points in five of its eight conference games this season, including 42 points in the win last week. They have averaged 36 points in their past five games.

In addition, Washington is going to contribute to this total. Washington has a potent QB in Demond Williams Jr., who is going to be an NFL pick next year. The Washington offense has recorded an average of 31 points in its past five games. The Ducks' defense was not quite as sharp last week, squandering 27 points.
