TCU visits No. 24 Arizona on Friday for a Big 12 matchup at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson. Kickoff is set for 10:15 pm ET on ESPN. The Horned Frogs (4-4, 2-3 Big 12, tied for 8th) beat Kansas 22-16 last Saturday but have lost three of their last five. Arizona (6-2, 3-2 Big 12, tied for 4th) fell 34-26 at Texas Tech after winning four straight. The Wildcats are 9.5-point favorites, with a total of 43.5. Check out our free college football picks.

TCU Trying to Build on Kansas Win

TCU snapped a two-game home losing streak with a 22-16 victory against Kansas on October 31. The Horned Frogs had lost 24-20 to West Virginia the week before, following a 17-6 road win at Baylor. TCU has scored 22 points or fewer in each of its last five games. Three of those five ended in losses, although four were decided by eight points or fewer.

Quarterback Jaden Craig (2,207 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, six interceptions) has completed 65.1% of his throws. Tight end Kari Ashley has 560 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Ed Small has 548 yards. Jeremy Payne leads the ground game with 429 rushing yards, averaging 4.9 per carry. On defense, Koron Hayward has 5.5 sacks, and Jamel Johnson has 50 tackles.

Injuries: Michael Short is out. Kyle Lemmermann and F. Fierro are questionable.

Arizona Looking to Bounce Back at Home

Arizona's four-game winning streak ended with a 34-26 loss at Texas Tech last Saturday. The Wildcats had beaten Iowa State 39-3 in their previous outing and scored 52 points against West Virginia on October 10. Arizona has scored at least 26 points in five straight games, including victories against Cincinnati and Washington State. The Wildcats have also allowed 31 or more points twice during that stretch.

Noah Fifita (2,481 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, four interceptions) has completed 74.1% of his passes. Isaiah Mizell leads Arizona with 675 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Kedrick Reescano has rushed for 321 yards and seven scores, while Antwan Roberts Jr. averages 6.7 yards per carry. Linebacker Chase Kennedy has six sacks, and Taye Brown leads the defense with 47 tackles.

Injuries: Tre Spivey and Daylen Austin are out. S. Brennan, C. Warren III, Giovanni Richardson, Cole Rusk and Max Harris are questionable.

Key To The Game

Arizona has a clear advantage in passing production, but TCU has kept games close despite its scoring problems. Craig needs to avoid turnovers against a defense with 25 sacks. The Horned Frogs will also need to limit Fifita's big completions to Mizell, who averages nearly 20 yards per catch.

TCU vs Arizona Game Pick

  • TCU Horned Frogs +9.5

Arizona has the stronger passing attack and deserves to be favored at home, but TCU has rarely been blown out. Four of the Horned Frogs' last five games were decided by eight points or fewer, and even the 17-6 win at Baylor showed how well the defense can control a game. Arizona is coming off a loss at Texas Tech, where it surrendered 34 points. Fifita can cause problems through the air, although TCU has the receivers to move the ball as well. I expect Arizona to win, but TCU should stay within the number.

TCU vs Arizona Over/Under Pick

  • Under 43.5

TCU's recent scores point toward a slower game. The Horned Frogs have managed 22 points or fewer in five straight contests, with four of those games finishing below this total. Arizona has a dangerous passing offense, but TCU's defense has allowed more than 21 points only once in its last five games. The Wildcats also held Iowa State to three points and Cincinnati to seven during their winning streak. A few long plays from Fifita could change the picture, but TCU has shown it can keep opponents close. I'll take the under at 43.5.
