Temple Owls at Tulsa Golden Hurricane Picks and Prediction for Saturday October 25, 2025
Use Code WWWC Two teams trending in opposite directions will square off when the Temple Owls (4-3, 2-1 AAC) visit the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-5, 0-4 AAC) on Saturday.
Temple is coming off one of its best performances of the season, routing Charlotte 49-14. On the other side, Tulsa continues to search for answers after dropping its fourth straight AAC game, and third straight over following a 41-27 defeat to East Carolina.
Last season, Temple beat Tulsa 20-10 as a three-point home favorite.

Have you checked out Evan Simon?
Temple has quietly become one of the more balanced teams in the AAC. They bounced back from a tough one-point loss to Navy (32-31) to throttle Charlotte on the road by 35 points last week. The Owls rank 44th nationally in scoring at 33 points per game and have produced 381.4 total yards per contest. Quarterback Evan Simon has been outstanding, going under the radar while having of the nation's most efficient seasons, throwing 16 touchdown passes without a single interception, and 1,343 yards. The 16:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio is tops in the nation. The redshirt senior was named to the Manning Award Watchlist on Thursday. The run game has also taken shape behind Jevyon Ducker, who’s averaging 5.7 yards per carry with 560 yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively, the Owls have shown clear strengths against the pass, ranking 23rd in FBS at 174.1 passing yards allowed per game, but their rush defense (176 YPG, 108th) has been inconsistent. The Owls are also fourth nationally with a +9 turnover margin.
Tulsa lacking excitment
The Golden Hurricane are 2-5 overall and winless in conference play. Tulsa has lost three straight after upsetting Oklahoma State 19-12 on Sept. 19. They've struggled on both sides of the ball as the offense is 118th, averaging 19.9 ppg, and 72nd with 372.6 total yards per game. The defense hasn't been better, ranking 113th nationally in total defense (411 yards per game) and 123rd against the run, giving up 193.6 yards per contest.
Quarterback Baylor Hayes has taken control of the offense after splitting early-season snaps. He’s thrown for 1,038 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions while completing just under 60 percent of his passes. Hayes has shown flashes, including his 251-yard, two-touchdown performance against East Carolina in the last game. Dominic Richardson leads the ground game with 597 rushing yards, while averaging 4.6 yards per carry.
Temple Owls at Tulsa Golden Hurricane Predictions
Spread Pick for Temple vs. Tulsa
- Temple -5 (5 units)
This is a bad match-up for Tulsa. The Owls are stronger on both sides of the ball, and I don't see the Golden Hurricane making the little things happen. Tulsa is 101st in the FBS with a -3 turnover margin, compared to Temple's 4th-ranked +9 margin, which is not a good sign.
The Owls have covered in six of seven games this season, while Tulsa has failed to cover in four of its last six. Tulsa’s defense has shown little resistance lately, and with Evan Simon not making mistakes, I like the Temple cover.
Total for Temple vs. Tulsa
- Over 53.5 (3 units)
Tulsa has allowed more than 30 points in three of its last four outings, and they are going up against a Temple team that doesn't beat itself and averages 33 points per game. Tulsa won't be able to grind out long enough possessions to slow Temple down, and once the Golden Hurricane falls behind, expect the pace to pick up and for mistakes to follow. I am on the over, with Tulsa adding some points late.
