Tigers Trying to Solidify Shot at AAC Championship Game
Memphis won their second straight game as they took care of business against Rice in their previous contest last Friday. The Tigers improved to 8-1 overall on the season and stand 4-1 in the AAC, leaving them tied for second in the conference with North Texas, half a game behind Navy for the top spot. Against Rice, Memphis took control of the game early and didn’t look back en route to the win. The Tigers were up 14-0 after the opening quarter and 28-0 in the second quarter as they took a 31-7 advantage at the half. Memphis cruised the rest of the way to the victory. The Tigers rolled up a 355-212 advantage in total offense, picked up 19 first downs while allowing 13 and forced the game’s two turnovers. Those numbers made up for a 32:22 to 27:38 disadvantage in time of possession in the contest.

Tulane vs. Memphis Pick
Spread Pick for Tulane vs. Memphis
- Memphis -4.5 (4 units)
Tulane was rolling along with just a road loss to Ole Miss blemishing their record heading into last week’s contest. The Green Wave was then obliterated by UTSA and has to try and regroup after that. Memphis comes in with two straight wins and they are trying to maintain a hold for a spot in the AAC title game. The Tigers won’t be caught looking ahead with East Carolina on the docket. After seeing Tulane turn the ball over four times last week, it’s tough to like their chances on the road. Memphis is +9 in the turnover department this season, forcing 17 takeaways on the year. The Tigers are 4-0 at home on the year, while Tulane is 2-2 on the road. Take Memphis at home here.
Over/Under Pick for Tulane vs. Memphis
- Under 55.5 (4 units)
This is based on the way that Tulane is a more methodical team offensively and will grind the clock, taking opportunities away from Memphis’ offense. The Green Wave has stayed under the number in five of their eight games entering this contest, including four of their last five. Tulane stayed under the number in games against power conference opponents in Ole Miss and Northwestern. Memphis has seen the under post a 5-4 mark in their nine games on the year. The Tigers have split their four home games on the year and have been very good defensively this season. Look for this game to wind up falling short of the total.
