Against UConn, UAB struggled in the first half and never got back in the game as they were clobbered in the loss. UAB vs. Rice Pick

Spread Pick for UAB vs. Rice

  • Rice -2.5 (4 units)

Both teams are sliding with four losses in their last five games heading into this contest. UAB has gone 0-4 on the road this season, and all four defeats have come by double digits. The Blazers have struggled to force takeaways, recording just five on the season, and they’ve allowed 188.1 yards per game, 4.6 yards per carry, and 20 scores on the ground. Rice has gone just 2-3 at home this season, but they can run the ball extremely well. The Owls should be able to take advantage of the Blazers’ defense. Couple that with UAB’s dismal road performances, and the Owls earn the win to even their record on the year.

Over/Under Pick for UAB vs. Rice

  • Over 52.5 (4 units)

UAB comes into this contest having seen the over post a 5-3 record on the season. The Blazers have gone over the total in three of their four road contests, surrendering 46.25 points per game in those contests, and have failed to hold any team under 38 points in those contests. Rice has seen the over post a 6-3 mark in their nine games on the year. The Owls have gone over the mark in four of their five home games on the year and have recorded three straight overs heading into this game. UAB has the nation’s fourth-worst scoring defense in the FBS entering this contest. These teams should find just enough offense to put the game over the total.
