Wyoming Cowboys (4-4) vs. San Diego State Aztecs (6-1)

Week 10 of the 2025 college football season brings plenty of intriguing matchups on Saturday, November 1, including the Mountain West Conference battle at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA, and we’ve got the Wyoming vs. San Diego State prediction along with the latest odds update.

The Aztecs aim for their fourth straight victory over the Cowboys. Last season, San Diego State outlasted Wyoming 27-24 as a 1.5-point road underdog, and the game went over the 43-point line.

SDSU is a 10.5-point home fave with a total of 41.5 points this time around. Let’s look closer at this Wyoming vs. San Diego State prediction, one of our NCAAF picks for Week 10. The kick-off is set at 7:00 PM ET.

Wyoming blanked Colorado State in Week 9

The Wyoming Cowboys (4-4; 5-3 ATS; 2-6 O/U) advanced to 2-2 in conference play following a 28-0 home victory over Colorado State in Week 9. The Cowboys bounced back from a 24-21 road loss at Air Force in style. They held the Rams to 94 rushing yards and won the turnover battle 3-0.

Two weeks ago, the Cowboys allowed 330 rushing yards to Air Force. Their defense was much better in Week 9, while the Cowboys’ rushing offense exploded for 212 yards on 34 carries. Senior RB Sam Scott had three carries for 68 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore QB Kaden Anderson threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

"That was a great defensive effort," Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel said. "We could be pretty good on that side of the ball. We still have a lot of work to do on certain things, but I was really proud of the effort and the intensity throughout the course of the game."

The Cowboys rank 32nd in the country in scoring defense (19.8 points allowed per game). They are 92nd in rushing yards allowed (159.0 per game) and 27th in passing yards allowed (183.8). Wyoming ranks 68th in opposing 3rd down percentage (38.1%).

On the other side of the ball, the Cowboys tally 21.0 points per game (tied for 113th) on 157.3 rushing yards (65th) and 208.6 passing yards (92nd). Anderson has thrown for 1,634 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while freshman RB Samuel Harris has amassed 602 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.

Sophomore WR Chris Durr has 37 catches for 398 yards and four touchdowns on his season tally. Senior DL Ben Florentine leads the way for Wyoming’s defensive unit with five sacks and six tackles for loss.

San Diego State continues to roll

The San Diego State Aztecs (6-1; 6-1 ATS; 3-4 O/U) extended their winning streak to five games this past Saturday. They blanked Fresno State 23-0 on the road to improve to 3-0 in conference play. The Aztecs outgained the Bulldogs 332-227 in total yards and picked off Carson Conklin twice. Junior LB Tano Letuli sealed the win with a 31-yard pick-six.

SDSU allowed just 45 rushing yards to Fresno State. The Aztecs rushed 46 times for 208 yards, and junior RB Lucky Sutton led the charge with 21 totes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Junior QB Jayden Denegal threw for 124 yards and an interception, while senior kicker Gabriel Plascencia hit all three of his field-goal attempts.

“Really, really proud of our team. Really proud of the effort,” SDSU coach Sean Lewis said. “Hey, 6-1, bowl eligible, big rivalry win. Coach Aurich (defensive coordinator Rob Aurich), the staff, the kids are doing a great job.”

It was SDSU’s third shutout in 2025. The Aztecs allow just 10.4 points per game (2nd in the country) on 88.4 rushing yards (10th) and 166.6 passing yards (16th). They rank fifth in the nation in opposing 3rd down percentage (26.6%).

San Diego State scores 29.6 points per game (61st) on 184.1 rushing yards (42nd) and 179.7 passing yards (115th). Denegal has tossed for 1,221 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions thus far, while Sutton has amassed 662 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Sophomore WR Jordan Napier has 41 catches, 567 receiving yards, and two touchdowns on his season tally.

On the other side of the ball, sophomore LB Owen Chambliss has been terrific this season, notching 58 tackles and two sacks across seven games. Four guys have accounted for at least three sacks, including junior defensive end Trey White, while senior cornerback Chris Johnson has recorded three interceptions.

Wyoming vs. San Diego State Pick

Spread Pick for Wyoming vs. San Diego State

  • San Diego State -10.5 (5 units)

The Aztecs won’t steamroll the Cowboys like Air Force did, but San Diego State will be able to establish its ground game just enough to win this game comfortably. SDSU’s offensive line has done a great job this season, and I’m not sure that Wyoming will be able to contain SDSU on the ground for all 60 minutes.

On the other side, the Cowboys’ ground game will be properly tested in this matchup. The Aztecs allow just 2.7 yards per carry (tied for 7th in the country). At the line of scrimmage, they look like one of the toughest teams in the nation.

Over/Under Pick for Wyoming vs. San Diego State

  • Under 41.5 (5 units)

There’s no such thing as a sure bet, but it seems like there’s no way that these two teams will combine for more than 40 points. I noted how good these two defensive units have been this season. On the offensive side of the ball, neither side has impressed.

The Aztecs will pound the rock a lot in this game. Wyoming’s secondary has been pretty good thus far, but the Cowboys’ run D has some flaws. I expect the Cowboys’ offense to struggle a lot in this game, so give me the under. Nine of Wyoming’s last 11 games overall and four of SDSU’s previous seven have gone under the total.
