Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction and Picks - September 11, 2025
The Los Angeles Angels (69-77) head to Seattle (78-68) for a four-game series. The season series has been competitive with the Mariners winning five of the nine head-to-head games so far. The Angels will not reach the postseason this year, but the Mariners currently only trail Houston by one game in the AL West and hold a 1.5 game lead over Texas for the final wild card spot.

Another losing season in Anaheim
Los Angeles starter Jose Soriano has had an up-and-down season overall. He carries a 10-10 record with a solid 4.07 ERA but has been noticeably better on the road, boasting an 8-2 record and a much lower 2.47 ERA in 14 starts away from home. It will be see if Soriano can continue to suppress runs in hostile environment tonight in Seattle.
Offensively, the Angels have struggled to find consistency, ranking 20th in runs per game (4.29) and batting average (.229), although their power remains respectable with 201 home runs on the season, ranking fourth in MLB. Led by Jo Adell (35 HR, 94 RBI) and Taylor Ward (30 HR, 96 RBI) have contributed but the overall lineup has flashed streaky form, with strikeouts and defensive miscues (88 errors) hurting opportunities.
Soriano's previous start against Seattle this year saw him allow just two runs over six innings, helping the Angels secure the win in a tight 3-2 game, setting a precedent for a competitive outing tonight.
Fighting for the postseason
Seattle starter Bryce Miller has struggled with a 4-5 record and elevated 5.53 ERA this year, with a WHIP of 1.40, showing little split between home and road performance. Miller has faced the Angels twice this year with a 4.50 ERA in those starts but remains a questionable point in the Mariners' rotation.
Seattle's offense has been more dangerous this season than in the recent pat, ranking 11th in runs per game (4.66) and third in home runs (213), powered by Julio Rodriguez (30 HR, 90 RBI), Cal Raleigh (53 HR, 113 RBI), and Randy Arozarena (27 HR, 73 RBI). The Mariners also rank well defensively with a 3.96 ERA and a low 1.25 WHIP as a team, coupled with 60 quality starts and only 62 errors.
Angels vs Mariners Predictions
Moneyline Pick for Angels vs. Mariners:
- Angels +140 (4 units)
I like the value on the Angels here. Even though they’ve had their ups and downs, Soriano’s been much better on the road, and the Angels have actually held their own against Seattle in recent meetings. This lineup has the pop to string together timely hits, and if they can keep it close late, there’s a real shot at pulling off another road upset.
Total Pick for Angels vs. Mariners:
- Over 7.5 (5 units)
Both teams have plenty of power in their lineups, but neither pitching staff has been all that steady. Mariner has struggled this season for Seattle, and although Soriano has been excellent on the road, the Los Angeles bullpen behind him is 28th in MLB with a 4.88 ERA.
The Mariners are built to hit the long ball and score in bunches, and the Angels can match that punch with their own power bats. I love the over 7.5, and expect fireworks.
