Atlanta Braves vs LA Dodgers NLDS Game 2 Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Sunday October 4 2026
Atlanta gets another shot at Los Angeles on Sunday night after dropping the Division Series opener 5-3.
The Braves are +125 for Game 2, the Dodgers are -150 and the total is 7. Blake Snell is confirmed for Los Angeles after finishing the regular season 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA, while Atlanta's starter remains TBD.
That makes the pitching announcement the biggest remaining variable, but the price is very different from Game 1. Los Angeles is no longer sitting above -200. Atlanta is also no longer being offered near +200.

Atlanta Braves vs Los Angeles Dodgers Division Series Game 2 Preview
Atlanta lost the opener, but the 5-3 final was hardly a complete mismatch.
The Braves kept Los Angeles scoreless through the first three innings before the Dodgers finally broke through against the bullpen. Atlanta also made the final score respectable with late offense, which matters because Game 2 again asks the Braves to solve a high-end left-handed starter.
Snell gives Los Angeles a significant pitching advantage on paper.
The left-hander enters with a 1.90 ERA and gives the Dodgers another difficult matchup immediately after Atlanta faced Tarik Skubal in Game 1. Los Angeles has deliberately arranged the front of its series around left-handed starting pitching, and Atlanta now has to avoid falling behind 2-0 before the series moves east.
The Braves' starter remains the unresolved piece.
That uncertainty prevents Atlanta from becoming an aggressive play. A weak pitching announcement could change the matchup quickly. At the current +125 price, though, the market is no longer demanding that Atlanta pull off the kind of major upset it was being asked to produce Saturday.
The 2026 Betting Returns Favor Atlanta at This Price
Atlanta's full-season moneyline results provide the strongest argument for taking another shot on the underdog.
The Braves finished the 2026 regular season at +7.90 units on the moneyline, a +3.50% return. At $100 per unit, that would translate to approximately $790 in profit.
Los Angeles went the other direction.
The Dodgers finished -14.80 units overall on the moneyline, or roughly a $1,480 loss for a bettor using $100 units. Their home moneyline performance was even more relevant to this matchup: -12.10 units and a -6.70% return.
That does not mean Atlanta is more likely to win than Los Angeles.
It means the market spent much of the season charging bettors heavily for the Dodgers, particularly at home. Game 2 again makes Los Angeles the favorite, but -150 is still a meaningful price.

Atlanta Braves vs Los Angeles Dodgers Odds and Line Movement
The most important change from Game 1 is the compression of the moneyline.
Atlanta went from a massive underdog Saturday to +125 Sunday. Los Angeles has dropped from the -200 range to -150.
That makes this a much different handicap.
The total is also down to 7. Atlanta finished the regular season 76-79-10 to the over, while Los Angeles was 72-85-5. Dodgers home games finished 37-43-1 to the over, giving the under a legitimate statistical foundation.
Snell strengthens that case further.
The problem is Atlanta's unconfirmed starter. At a total this low, there is almost no room for a weak pitching assignment or bullpen failure. A 4-3 game is only a push, and anything beyond that loses.
That is why the total remains secondary rather than becoming the Best Bet.

Why Game 1 Does Not Kill the Atlanta Side
Los Angeles deserved its 5-3 win, but one result does not erase the price discussion.
Atlanta's Game 1 pitching plan was built around multiple arms, and the game stayed scoreless until the middle innings. The Braves then showed enough late offense to avoid disappearing after Los Angeles created separation.
Game 2 gives Atlanta a smaller payout than Saturday, but it also reflects a substantially more competitive market assessment.
The risk is obvious: Snell can dominate, and Atlanta still has not named a starter.
The reward is that bettors are getting plus money against a Dodgers team whose 2026 home moneyline returns were deeply negative despite a strong straight-up season.

Best Bet - Atlanta Braves ML (+125)
Atlanta +125 is the Best Bet, with the starter gate still attached.
The Braves were profitable on the moneyline during the regular season. Los Angeles was not, particularly at home, where a $100-unit bettor would have lost roughly $1,210.
Snell is the strongest reason to oppose Atlanta. He gives the Dodgers another premium left-handed starter and a chance to take firm control of the series.
But -150 still requires bettors to pay for the Dodgers name, home field and pitching advantage.
At +125, Atlanta only needs to win often enough for that payout to compensate for the matchup risk.
If the Braves announce a materially weak pitching plan, the play should be reassessed before first pitch. Otherwise, the current price is playable.
Game Thesis: Los Angeles has the clearer pitching advantage with Snell, but Atlanta's full-season moneyline performance and the Dodgers' poor home betting return make +125 the more attractive side.
