They have an eight-game cushion on second-place Cleveland in the loss column with just 18 games left in the regular season. On Sunday, in the series finale, the Bombers prevailed 4-3 to tighten the gap in the division. Starter Max Fried settled in after a slow start, holding the Jays to just three runs on seven hits in seven innings of work. Cody Bellinger doubled home the go-ahead run in the third inning to make the Yankees winners.
