Kansas City Drops Four Straight
The Kansas City Royals have high hopes for the 2026 season, and just has several players on their roster play well for their team in the WBC before the season, as they hoped to bring positive momentum into MLB play. The start of this season has been rocky for the Royals, as they are only 7-12 through their first 19 games, and lost each of their last four coming into Friday night.
In their previous series, the Royals got swept by the Tigers on the road, including a high scoring 10-9 decision they lost to close out the set. In that game, the Royals held a 9-7 lead going into the bottom of the 9th before giving up three runs to close the game. Maikel Garcia has been their most consistent bat, as he leads the team with 21 hits while adding two home runs and nine RBIs. Garcia has been batting leadoff as their third baseman, with Bobby Witt Jr. batting second as their shortstop. Witt has 20 hits and eight RBIs so far, but has yet to hit his first home run.
Noah Cameron will make his fourth start of the season as a 26-year old left hander. He has a 1-0 record to go with his 3.94 ERA, and has 14 strikeouts against four walks on the season. In his last start, Cameron pitched 5.1 innings, but gave up five earned runs to the White Sox in a loss.

Yankees Go Cold
The New York Yankees are also not performing up to their expectations, as they have lost seven of their last nine despite their massive payroll. They recently got swept by the Rays in Tampa, then split a four game home series against the Angels. They are still 10-9 overall, and just 1.5 games behind the Rays who are the division leaders in the AL East.
They closed out their series against the Angels with a tough 11-4 loss, despite getting a home run and two RBIs from Giancarlo Stanton as their cleanup hitter. Stanton is their DH who has two home runs and 10 RBIs on the season while batting .273. Aaron Judge is off to another hot start, as his eight home runs is tied for the highest amount in the majors. Judge has also added 14 RBIs to go with a .236 batting average. Ben Rice is their first baseman who quietly leads the team with 18 hits and a .327 batting average.
Will Warren will make his fifth start of the season as a 26-year old right hander. His record is 1-0 on the year so far with his 2.45 ERA and a 20-6 strikeout to walk ratio. In his last outing, Warren pitched 3.2 scoreless innings in a win over the Angels.
Royals vs. Yankees Picks and Predictions
Spread pick for Royals vs. Yankees
- Yankees -1.5 (5 units)
The Yankees figure to be heavy favorites here, so laying the runline is the correct play as the Yanks will get back on track against Cameron and the Royals. Judge has been his usual self so far to start the year, he has eight home runs, and will look to go deep on Cameron who has lost in each of his last two outings. Cameron just gave up five runs to the White Sox, one of the worst teams in the league, and now must pitch in front of a packed house Saturday afternoon in Yankee Stadium. New York will be too much here, and easily cover the runline.
Take the Yankees to cover the runline.
Over/Under Pick for Royals vs. Yankees
- Under (4 units)
The Kansas City offense has stalled. Many expected this team to compete in the Central Division, and they still can, but they are currently not at that level of production as they only have seven wins on the year. They are going against Warren who has a strong 20-6 strikeout to walk ratio, and will be comfortable at home in front of the home crowd. Warren has not given up more than two runs in any of his four starts this season. Cameron had a tough night against the White Sox, but held his opponents to just one earned run in each of his first two starts. Expect a low scoring game here.
Take the under.
